MMObility: A few bad design apples ruin the whole bunch
Mar 23rd 2012 8:40PM (Massively)Why can't we have a game that has the speed of a more traditional rts or even something along the like of Civilization would be an improvement. something you can sit down for 20 minutes to an hour and play a game and walk away satisfied instead of spending two minutes clicking on the necxt thing to do and then come back in 8 hours to maintain things. Thats not fun for me. The last thing I want is more commitment and the feeling like I HAVE to play a game.

Feb 29th 2012 9:28AM (Massively)And I am certainly not defending SOE's actions, of late it seems like all the people we know have left the company or are working on other games for SOE. In the last few months its pretty much been an entire regime change and they keep putting people in charge who have no idea how the players feel or who have even played the game, while passing up experienced people like Domino who most of us though would be taking over from Smokejumper. On top of this latest fiasco, I feel like the company policy is now "Do stuff without consulting the community first, then announce it after its too late to change anything and apologize."
It doesn't help that the man behind it all hides from us and never engages us in conversations, even on a one on one level, which I think is critical whenever you rely on a large clientbase to sucessfully keep a business going.
Companies need to learn that talking isn't communication, listening is.

Feb 29th 2012 7:59AM (Massively)EQ2's classes and race restrictions might be locked (they have to make money somehow) but there are 8 free classes and the game has more free content than pretty much any game on the market, free or subscription.

Feb 21st 2012 12:34PM (Massively)Also have you been to best buy recently? The ones here in Arizona are HORRID now. Their game selection is like 1/3rd of what it used to be and half of that is now used.
Their anime section was a whole 3 shelves, one of which was reserved just for Dragon Ball Z.
The sad thing is, when I can't find a game/movie I want, I am forced to either purchase it online, or buy it through steam or the console's online store and download it. Its a self fufilling prophecy.

Feb 19th 2012 1:02PM (Massively)I really wish these thing had edit buttons, it was supposed to be "nice little (...) guild" not "nice (...) little guild". Just clarifying that.

Feb 9th 2012 10:24AM (Massively)Let me tell you a secret, developers. You know how every sucessful themepark has two sets of servers, one for pve and one for pvp? That should be a hint to you that not everyone likes to pvp.
As a result, you are alienating 75% of the mmo playerbase. That's not good business sense.
As far as Masthead studios goes, you were the ones who made a bad game, stop blaming the rest of the industry for your failures. There are plenty of indie sandbox developers out there (like eve) that are doing just fine.on their own. On top of that, maybe you should of considered free to play instead of backstabbing your customers by making them pay up front for a bad game.
