I also liked Notch's Mars Effect:

WoT is mostly inside jokes, but the Ratte (:40 to 1:20) is hilarious:

Looking forward to seeing how CCP does this. It doesn't sound like an easy process, and certainly lots of feathers will be ruffled in the process.

MMO Week in Review: TORsy and iconic

Yeah I noticed this with the Heroic stuff. I think it would have helped greatly in this to be able to teleport to party members, guild mates, or friends for the purposes of doing these heroic quests. Or even in general. But I guess teleporting is not in the game because travel is a time sink, and persistent-world gamers would probably oppose it.

Nah dude, if its fun for you, go for it. Even if you only sub for 1 or 2 months, but you have a good time in the process, its all good.

MMO Week in Review: TORsy and iconic

I played the free weekend and had a lot of fun with it. I hit the level 15 cap and reached the end of the progression (up to end of second planet). I played a Jedi Knight and upgraded into Jedi Guardian. It was amusing progressing him to Dark Side alignment (was Dark II), while the storyline characters did not care about the Sith blackening on my character. While I'd like to play the game more, I ended up not subscribing anyways, here my feedback:

PRO:
- Flashpoints (and by extension the group dialogue)
- Companions (sending them off, or having them fight at your side)
- Graphics (not cutting edge, but good and enjoyable)
- PVP minigames are fun (i only played a few, up to 8 valor)

CON:
- Active skill bloat (1 hotbar did not seem to be enough)
- Choices don't matter (I executed every NPC i could, no one cared)
- Way too many crew skills to make sense of
- Gear progression too fast (Constantly looting slightly better gear off dead trash mobs to replace existing gear does not feel very Star Wars-ish)

Extra CON:
- It is EA. EA sucks, don't support EA.
- It is subscription-based. (Sub-based games have too many timesinks)
- Persistent world. (Various problems inherent with persistent worlds games such as inconveniently respawning mobs, mobs and npcs being static)

The comment system sucks. I had the same problem as you and ended up just making another account to stop being (Unverified).

Not So Massively: Diablo III shows signs of release

I watched many of the IEM matches for LoL and enjoyed them. At some points, during the more anticipated games, there were over 100k concurrent viewers! My favorite was probably the second game of CLG vs M5.

DOTA 2 also had some tourneys this past weekend, Dignitas Invitational and Razer. However, they were not as heavily promoted as the LoL stream and did not have nearly as many viewers. Still great games tho.
