LotRO's Great River update flows today, patch notes released [Updated]
Mar 12th 2012 11:07PM (Massively)You summed up my experience exactly. I loved Shadows of Angmar, it is my all time favorite game. MoM was good, but everything since they went f2p is just awful. I feel I will never love a game as much as SoA which makes me sad.
Hyperspace Beacon: One step forward...
Mar 6th 2012 2:42PM (Massively)I didn't like swtor but as a lotro player the OP is right. isenguard didn't have much more content than this. No group content at all, no new systems, just 10 levels of solo quests for $30-50. So it wasn't much of a exaggeration :)

Mar 1st 2012 10:07PM (Massively)New Star Wars: The Old Republic video celebrates a successful launch
Feb 21st 2012 10:29PM (Massively)yes they have tons of subs cause the game is new. Rift had 1 million subs 2 months in and they weren't Star wars. They will keep 500k + subs on Star wars alone. The funny thing is how they made this video when a massive amount of the player base is unhappy.
This is why they now have the Friday Q&A sessions cause people are so up in arms about this game. With the Q&A they can say that all of these problems will be fixed in due time. If the game launch was so smooth they wouldn't be waisting their time answering questions.

Feb 21st 2012 10:13PM (Massively)They have obviously never read their forums or had any contact with people that played this game. It has the most unhappy player base since FF14 was released. Their forums is like 20:1 negative threads to positive threads. I know people say all forums are like that, but it is not true. I went to Rift and Lotro forums and there are very few complaint threads.
I feel like they should be somewhat embarrassed. It was a success cause they sold a ton of boxes and most likely have lots of subs now, but the game has so many problems I can't believe they made this video, lol
'RIFT Lite' announced, makes first 20 levels free to all [Updated]
Feb 1st 2012 8:59AM (Massively)People PLay it and they might like it so they sub. It is an easy concept. I just started playing again and am totally surprised how much I love the game, so I bough a 6 month sub. That is how this is supposed to work.
Unlike Turbine, they believe the game on its own can sell itself. It doesn't need the free loaders like Lotro has
'RIFT Lite' announced, makes first 20 levels free to all [Updated]
Feb 1st 2012 8:56AM (Massively)This is the reason why I don't play Lotro any more. F2P killed that game in many ways and one of them is now the player base is too transient. They come and go, no one pays so there is no commitment from players. It is hard to find a raiding guild cause the game is now filled with casual players.
Thus Turbine has made all of the new content solo content, which is not a MMO to me. So I will leave Rift if they ever do the same. GW2 will be out soon, so if you don't want to pay a sub you will have a game to play

Feb 1st 2012 8:52AM (Massively)It was the same for me. After playing Swtor this game seems soo much better than before :) I am really loving it.
One of the main reasons I tried it again is cause Hartsman said the game would never go F2P. I was a Lotro player but Turbine killed that game so now I will be playing rift for a while.
