@Hynds57 About the F2P part.. Eve can be free to play. If you do it right that is.. Eve is one of the only MMOs that allows you to use in game currency to purchase game time. I have known several people that fund multiple accounts with in game currency. The reason the "OLD Diehards" are moving to F2P is because they suck compared to current games and are trying to generate more income. I would much rather pay monthly sub fees to play then have to spend hundreds of dollars trying to be competitive in the game. On another note.. How many other MMOs have you seen a full on in game riot live streamed on the web?? Eve has its flaws, yes.. But please don't go off half cocked because you had a bad experience. Eve is not for everyone. Especially the 14yo kids who have no patience.
Someone had posted on one of the devblogs about Mittens being responsible for this idea.. I forgot, mittens is god.. FFS.. This concept was discussed on the forums well before the last CSM election. Hell I had to explain how this would be helpful. I still see some people just don't get it. The servers operate on Ticks. Each tick is a second. In that second the server has to process a certain amount of information. As that information exceeds the "tick" the server begins to que the requests for the next tick. Over time in a large fleet battle this que is what causes the lag. If you extend the tick to 2 seconds instead of 1 the server can effectively process 2 times the amount of data in 1 tick. 3 seconds equals 3 times the time. This doesn't mean suddenly we are going to have MORE lag. I would much rather see a 1 or 2 second time dilation then have a fleet fight that lasts hours due to nothing happening. How many of you have logged off in a fleet battle to find out you were popped 2 hours afterwards and then gotten the KM several hours after that? This isn't rocket science. Its a very simple and effective solution to the problem.
