Study links MMOs to 'problem' game-playing

Feb 3rd 2012 10:14AM (Massively)
So the study found that 5% of people have problems moderating their behavior... Did these guys get paid to publish that because if they did there's some things I'd like to "publish" if they're paying. How about this... 5% of people sleep to much... the horror.

SWTOR to get ability delay fixes but no Valor rollback [Updated]

It's a very fun game... there are several very fun games competing for my attention... exploiters are rewarded in this game, therefore I'm out.

Exactly the same for me... you can be forced into PvP on a PvE server, which has happened to me, and is a deal breaker for me... I appreciated I might be in the minority with this, and for those who don't care much about it, more power to you.

Not arguing in advocacy of Rift, but just as a point of reference, Rift has a toggle which ensures that you simply cannot go into PvP by any means others than turning on PvP explicitly.

I'm playing a shadow so its easy for me to duck out of being mugged, but I really dislike it intensely.

Football is just a game, and if you get caught cheating you're sanctioned.

Most games within the public arena have sanctions for rulebreaking... It's not a controvertial position. In fact, it's the norm.

It troubles me what happened with this game... Never played it but I feel for the players left at the end and will forever remain wary of those games utilising outside IP for their setting and lore.

Age of Conan dev update talks open-world PvP, House of Crom

If you were into "hardcore" PvP you'd be playing a FPS. I'm fed up of a section of the playerbase that can never be appeased bending so much out of shape. Class balance becomes point and sharp around PvP. As long as it's not outlandishly out of whack it a far milder issue under PvE as long as everybody is having fun.

The Daily Grind: Which MMO do you think is underappreciated?

Underappreciated?.. Vanguard.

Like many, I played it at launch for a wee while then left. Went back a month or so ago and I'm absoluelty loving it.

@Dread

If you're not into playing the game that's fair enough, some of us are actively enjoying the game as-is.
