Firefall video diary talks open-world design, shows pretty vistas

Hrm, so are the PvP matches watchable in the Open World? I knew they used the landscape but didn't know they actually existed in real time -- that's pretty awesome.

And to Azev, Red 5 has said that while Open World PvP is coming, it will be PvE only initially. Considering they are rolling out content I don't know what even qualifies as "launch", but I imagine it's coming sooner than later in the timeline.

And I'll imagine a game ready to preview and write about ;-)

Seriously though, looking forward to seeing more on PS2 and trying it eventually.

New hack-and-slash MMO Core Blaze discusses boss fights, platforming details

@ImperialPanda

Well, what I got from it is that because it depends on a players skill and each class has different strengths and weaknesses, you match your build to the situation. I guess you can expect multiple optimal builds so you get that choice.

I just keep thinking of Monster Hunter and if this ends up fulfilling my monster hunter MMO thirst, I'm going to cry tears of joy *shakes fist at Capcom*. In Monster Hunter there really isn't an optimal build for the reasons given above. Some bosses are quick and you want a faster class, maybe it's better to use a build with extra evasion or fire resistance. Even the "ultimate" armor in MH is weak against certain monsters and more importantly there are lots of effective sets at high levels.

The Daily Grind: What do you think of MMO dating?

@Utakata

Nah not required, they just pushed it as a big feature so you gets lots of buffs + perks for pairing up and questing together. You can solo just fine and get everything, the game doesn't revolve around dating like it may seem. They do have same sex dating/marriage that they put in btw.

The way people seem to be dating is just how I would expect mmo dating to work. They don't take it too serious other than a way to meet new ppl. It's actually kind of fun and non-serious. I mean I'm sure there are people who will take it more seriously but in the end you would be smart to approach it like any online dating. Go in looking to meet people and make friends, if something comes of it great. Lucent heart is just making that process easier than other games.

It seems like a lot of people have found success in wow huh? That's pretty cool.
