Don't underestimate the fun of ruining the mood for everyone else ;-)
At any case, lot of the "whining" comes from the fact that some people like EVE as it is and would rather see that part of the game being developed instead of pouring sprint after sprint into something that only has a vague promise of being functional "sometime in the future".
But yeah, big step for EVE and CCP. I hope they can roll out some gameplay elements soon.
Predicting they'll show Vampires Quarters, the first iteration of WoD. You'll be able to walk around the room and buy new microtransaction supported clothes to your vampire.
At the risk of sounding corporate-y, I have to say I‘m impressed and greatful for the amount of passion shown in this thread.
There are a lot of very valid points raised here. What's interesting is that most, if not all, of the issues that are being raised are because of confusing wording, terminology or misunderstandings in the draft document.
It is in no way the purpose of the program to deter or make money off 3rd party development. The core purpose is simply to have control our IP and brand and have a contract in place so we can have some form of regulation on apps and services that use the EVE name and EVE resources (API).
It‘s obvious we have to review and iterate on the contract and program as presented in the devblog since most of the points mentioned in the comments are not in line with its core purpose.
Unfortunately that will take some time and we‘re kind of swamped for the next couple of weeks.
So what we‘ll do is take a step back, harvest feedback from this thread, do an iteration pass on the contract and terms and give you an updated version before the end of summer. Until we have a license that meets our needs and your expectations we will not make any changes to our terms or enforcement thereof.
As always, your feedback is not only welcomed but in fact essential to us. Thank you.

I knew it was going to be console-only release, so the lack of PC didn't surprise me (even though I still think it's a stupid move). The PS3 exclusivity totally killed it off for me though. Don't have a PS3 and I'm never going to get one. So, no DUST for me. A shame.
Now I'm actually more interested about the implied Sov changes that DUST will bring with it. With all this Incarna "attracting new players"-crap,
I'm aware of the recent large scale battles - I've flown in them myself. But the fact is, a lot of them are happening on the reinforced nodes which you have to report in advance. But it's cool, in battles of that scale lag is expected.
However, you'd think that flying a 20 man roaming gang through 0.0/low-sec would be smooth as butter.. not quite so...
The big battles are really cool, but the day-to-day PvP in smaller fleets is still not on the level it was before Dominion. They've improved a lot of things since then, sure, but it was only after the "18-months" incident they established the teams that are now looking into performance and small fixes.

I doubt we see much changes to 0.0 before DUST:
