Is the sound out of sync for anyone else? Golly that's annoying.
Something as simple as UI customization really should have been a launch feature. A lot of 1.2 should have really, but I'll check it out and see if it's worth sticking around.
"When you deliver a game, and you deliver it for a player, you have to capture what they think is the possibility space," he explains. "You need to let them do everything they think they should do, and you can't block them from doing anything they think they should be able to do. You have to nail all the features and content that should be in that possibility space."
Has he played SWTOR? There's a ton on the "Should be able to do" list that is currently non-existant.
If you read the public legal document, it states that NCsoft assets were to have been removed from TERA, yet images extremely similar to L3 concept art are still being used for promotional use. There are even side by side image comparisons in the document.
Now that a release date has been confirmed, there is intent to sell in a competing market using "stolen copyright material."
I blame Jeff Dobson for this art style, for the terrible heads that got a quality pass and made it into character creation, and for the unbelievably ugly PvP and Raid gear.
Enjoying the game, minus the annoying bugs, poor PvP decisions and the above.
Every game has its own grand scope, but voicing an entire game with union talent is definitely a huge undertaking. Way more than anything I ever saw RIFT do.
SWG was my very first step into the MMO world and even though there were up and downs (and more downs), I will always carry the fond memories much more prominently in my mind.
First of all, when you die to PvP, your res cost is 1 kinah, so either you died a LOT, or you're confusing it with your normal deaths in between.
Secondly, I'm not sure the last time you played, but NCsoft has since added large defensive buffs to the rifting areas. These buffs are only removed once ever few weeks as part of a rifting event and while active almost stop rifting PvP completely.
That said, you will still have players in the Abyss of much higher level who have free reign, but with all the new solo content and quests added, the Abyss isn't nearly as necessary of a leveling step as it used to be.
Even the end game zones take measures to protect you against PvP now. Inggison and Gelkmaros both have 3 sections of varying PvP. The section closest to the fortresses is open PvP (if the other faction owns BOTH of their forts and makes the trek through another zone to fight you.) The middle zone is more difficult to get to and has a higher concentration of guards. The last zone is completely PvP free.
Aion is a very different game than it was back at launch. There are new instances that never require you to even leave the main cities and the new Arenas allow you to PvP on your own terms when you want to. If PvP is the only thing that made you stop, I think you'll find that there are a lot of improvements to both PvP and the rest of the game that make it worth another look.

Nov 17th 2011 7:37PM (Massively)Well, the Tanuki is a real animal, so maybe a fictional one such as a Daru won't get them huffing and puffing.
At the end of the day, it's pixels wearing pixels.
