The Daily Grind: What game would you play were it not for the community?

Mar 28th 2012 11:41AM (Massively)
@Jokkl

As a couple of others have stated, LOTRO does indeed have the best community by far. Role a character on Landroval and if you can manage to get over the horrendous character models, you'll be treated to a community with a stark contrast from your typical MMO community.

And by the way it appears we share similar opinions

XLGAMES' Jake Song not interested in consoles

@Marekh

Lol, you stole my thunder as well.

Jake Song is either envisioning/promising something and the dev on his left is like WTF *facepalm*...

...or better yet, Jake is trying to cast a spell in RL and the guy on his left is like 'when is this RP crap going to end? This shit's embarassing? I'm never getting laid again!'

Peek into the future of Star Wars: The Old Republic's Legacy system

I know it's not the most innovative game, but I'm really enjoying my time in SWTOR and I'm looking forward to this update.

However, I would like to see BioWare do something about all the hacking and exploiting going on, asap. The addition of that advanced ranking system is absolutely useless until BioWare buckles down on the cheating. The higher ranks will most likely be filled with those using the hacks and exploits, that are abusing the current system in PvP.

Well that's a start I suppose and at least they're big enough to admit where they may have made mistakes.

@Threecubed

Thanks for the reply, but other games seemed to go that route and it has served them well.

I'm not saying BioWare need to give specifics, but they should at least make a point by stating that they are aware of it, will be monitoring it and will punish those accordingly. This way they at least maybe scare those contemplating it in the future. Seriously how hard would it be for them to simply make all players fully aware that they are actively monitoring it and plan to deal with those that are caught?

As it stands now, players seem to have absolutely no fear of any repercussions and therefore have no desire to stop.

Did BioWare discuss plans for what they intend to do with all of the cheaters using hacks and exploits in PvP?

When they decide to discuss those things, then I'll perk up and pay attention. Until then, I'll be in the back here, nodding off.

A sneak peek at Guild Wars 2's PvP Scholar armor [Updated]

@ Massively

I sent you guys a tip on this, but did anyone happen to have a look at the two sites listed in the trackbacks of the Guild Wars Insider article:

http://geekcity.co/

and

http://mmocity.co/

I hope they're somehow affiliated with you as judging by their content they would appear to be. Either that or they're a blatant ripoff!

Doh!

A sneak peek at Guild Wars 2's PvP Scholar armor [Updated]

Uh oh, get ready for the complaints about revealing clothing.

Judging by this picture, it doesn't appear all that different from what TERA is going for with armor for females and some are aware of how much flak that game was/is getting!

Personally, I'm all for the "sexy" gear. It's gotta be a strategic thing, right? Distract the enemy, then let him have it...a beating that is ;)

Besides, it's not any worse (er, better) than some of the attire that is seen on TV and the local beaches. And, let's face it, this isn't RL, but a game.

Vekien, I believe you meant to say "good luck". (Do I get bonus points for showing that I can proofread? :P)

All kidding aside, am I correct in interpreting this as a position for the original Guild Wars and not the upcoming Guild Wars 2? Or, will it include providing content for both?
