Take a peek at RIFT's shiny Infernal Dawn concept art

so is this going to be Raid 2 gear like HK or are they adding a R3 tier already? And if they aren't i have to wonder beyond skins what use most of these items would be to many raiders.

@JuliusSeizure Ya, but the exact same thing could be said for CO

@Deliverator you right may never infringe upon the right of another. And if your familiar with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the right to life is held greater than that of life. Plus freedom does not mean freedom from consequences. Ill support his right to continue to say stupid sh!t, but ill support any punishment he recieves for it every time also.

@(Unverified) So hounding a player out of a game is unforgivable? But hounding a player to his death is rather easily forgives seeing how palpable his punishment is?

@Tanesis Light punishment often sends more of a message of acceptance than no punishment at all. It reeks of " hey, we gotta do some thing, but we got you back so here's a light punishment. Go take a break and well see you in a Month." Its almost like teachers or cops being put on paid leave for gross violations of rules.

Champions Online cuts the craft in favor of the mod scene

Finally, crafting in CO was useful only for rarely used crafted costume parts and TPs. Having to max out crafting to get the first useful stuff and even than only a handful of cosmetic items is rather horrid design

@Daeths it missed that element of choice, with the only real choice being what skill card i choose

@Cyclone Jack I agree. Simplicity almost always eliminates choice and between the two choice is almost always the more meaningful.

I loved the massive size and complexity of ADnD. 20 books in 3.0, 3 or 4 open at a time, spending hours seeing how i can craft the best heroes, getting the very last drop of benefit i could squeeze out. Its also why i hated 4.0. It was way too simple, it missed that clement of choice between what kill card i choose at what lvl. A, B or C every 2 or so lvls just was not engaging. Often complexity is a core game element. Some times those "unnecessary quests" are necessary for a person to earn a reward. A dev cant force you not to blow through it with you lvl bajillion friend, but they can refrain from handing it to you because you happened to fill a few bars doing something totally unrelated.
