Aaaaah ok, I see. Guess I missed that bit of lore. I wonder when we'll get to find them then.

Thanks much for the clear up. :)

Captain's Log: Does 'The 2800: Second Wave' live up to expectations?

@TerilynnS

I found they were pretty good myself. :)

The Andorian captain was great (could be bias, I'm rolling Andorian), loved the Gorn, the Cardissian annoyed me but to me that was the point of his character (snooty) and so the voice work matched and the Deferi was nice and peaceful (makes me kinda sad that his peeps get Borg stomped every other day in the Deferi defence instances).

All in all, pretty good.

...... A substantial amount of NPCs in an MMO are unkillable. How would your immersion be broken.

There aren't that many killer babies running around in real life to justify them as a mob.

Loved the coliseum with the old school Spock-Kirk fight music.

@DairamX2

Heya Dairam,

I would say a few things keep me happy.

First and foremost, to get it out of the way, the ship combat. Everyone says its good (even those that dislike the game) and everyone is right. Whether your preferance is a hulking Cruiser or nimble Escort I think you'll have fun. It's not merely run (or fly?) and shoot but there is actual tactics one has to employ (and the tactics change from ship to ship and person to person) to help ya win.

Secondly, to me it doesn't feel like a grindfest...... most of the time. I won't lie, there are times when I'm like 'Have I killed enough Klingons to Lvl yet?' but for the most part the Episodes and Seasons keep me activity happy and provide good XP (though some ppl have said they find leveling is too fast, to an extent this might be true, but it is still rewarding).

Thirdly, the lore is nice. I liked the IP and I like the little nods and winks to past things that are in there (Thomas Riker anyone?). This might be more centric to me though.

Fourthly, little improvements since the beta I played way back when. Ground combat, as everyone agrees, has been improved and personally I enjoy it. The Duty Officer system is a nice way to fill up (and get rewarded for) time spent travelling between objectives and it gives me a feeling that my crew consists of more than my Bridge Officers.

Finally (though this should be higher up) the players. Nice group. :)
