Yes! I'm so excited!

The Joystiq network is looking for a few good writers

Have any decisions been made about this, or are we still deliberating? =)

The funny thing about this is, I'm not a huge Halo fan...but I still want it. Because the 360 has a lot of other awesome IPs exclusive to it right now.

That's a pretty awesome setup. I wouldn't say no to that.

Vote for your favorite Springfield

Jul 2nd 2007 2:52PM (AOL TV)
I grew up in Springfield, MO, and I swear to God, no matter what you think of the videos, it *is* the Simpsons Springfield. I've been to Springfield, Illinois. Do not listen to them. Springfield, IL isn't culturally deprived enough! Springfield, MO is populated almost entirely by Homer Simpson and Ned Flanders!

So... did you get a Wii?

Missed the midnight launch because I had to pick someone up from the airport in Kansas City (which is 3 and a half hours away) at 8 PM. After I was back in Springfield at about 1 AM, I drove around to Target, Best Buy, and Toys R Us. Target had about 60 people in line, Best Buy had close to that (crazy people had been lined up there for three days).

I got in line at Toys R Us, which had, shockingly, only 8 people were in line when I settled in at 2:15 AM; I guess people here didn't do their homework. It was 18 degrees outside and windy as hell. I brought a coat, a blanket, my iPod full of podcasts, and a notebook computer to watch DVDs on. It was so cold I just buried myself in the blanket and couldn't really do anything to entertain myself.

There were a bunch of irritating high school kids who pulled their rich parents' huge ass Mitsubishi SUV up right at the curb where everyone was resting and blasted Tool ridiculously loud while venting exhaust right in my face for four hours.

Toys R Us employees arrived at 6 AM, before sunrise, and an hour later they had pity on us and wrote up handmade vouchers to the 18 or 19 of us who were there are that point so we could return at 9 AM. I went home, cranked the heat up, and watched TV for an hour and 45 minutes, then went back. When I got back, all the allnighter people were there, but so were 50 or so preorder people. Stood in line for 40 minutes; they actually had five left over for 9 AM walk-ins but after that a lot of people came and then left, disappointed.

I got my console, took it home, had a horrendous time getting the Sensor Bar configured properly (still not quite right), played Wii sports for 20 minutes with my roommate, then went to sleep.

Woke up at 7, went out to dinner with someone, went to see a movie, then came home at midnight and have been playing Zelda ever since. Great game, not as good as OoT like people say though.

And that's my story.
