Hopefully the development team is taking notes from the various discussions of the ending to put out something resembling a reasonable closure.

Why are these videos played by people so bad at the game it's painful to watch? Even getting through the menus felt like a difficult exercise.

The top five worst school massacres were performed before video games existed. Another fun fact - none of them involved guns.

*SPOILERS*

Dunno, the ME3 ending is starting to make a whole lot of sense to me after playing it a second time. After getting hit by Harbinger's beam, turn around instead of walking toward the light. What do you see? Fog, ghostly trees, brush...the same exact ones in your three dream sequences featuring you chasing after the kid that died in the opening invasion.

The hallway leading to the central chamber after going up looks just like the Collector ship hallways. The bridge has elements right out of the Shadow Broker's ship and the Geth dreadnaught gun central coil. The control center is TIM's control center.

The endings that give the Reapers what they want - you saving them via control or total synthesis of the universe - are presented to you as blue, in a game that that color coded everything Paragon as blue. The one choice that would end the Reaper threat for good was presented as red (Renegade). The player is conditioned into thinking red is good, blue is bad, but maybe this time, it's from the perspective of the Reapers, not the player.

This might very well be that "The Truth" DLC rumor floating around. The entire ending sequence after the Harbinger beam hits is nothing more than an internal battle against indoctrination. It would have been far more effective if we didn't have to wait a few months to get the final product and it continued after picking the Destroy option - the other two dooming the galaxy to another Reaper cycle as Shepard is fully indoctrinated.

In a sense, Dragon Age 2 probably turned out the way it did was because BioWare put their farm team on the job. Mass Effect is a bigger property and, while DA2 was being developed, a much larger project was also being developed concurrently - Star War The Old Republic. The team on DA2 probably didn't have the capability of pulling out all the stops. The AAA writers were in the middle of crafting eight solid narratives in a MMO and simultaneously producing what could be gaming's greatest mind violation in ME3. They are simply overextended as a company.

Might have to do with the fact that the US didn't start fielding decent armor units until the 1970s. Heavy armor was dominated by the Soviets and Germans during the WW2 frame and the Soviets fell into the "bigger is better" category after. Additionally, the sheer volumes of T-34 and T-72 tanks constructed solidified them in popular culture.

The US has a military tradition more rooted in British history and is primarily a naval power. The US didn't even field a true MBT until the M60 in 1961 and even today, the US relies most heavily on naval forces to engage in major combat operations (including the Marines which handle most ground combat and use limited armor).

So, its understandable that the Russian tank contingent is that big.
