Sony Online Entertainment offers an updated ProSiebenSat.1 FAQ

It's really depressing to see SoE make so many mistakes, one after another. The used to be a truly great developer, but over the years they've fumbled and have never really recovered. I'm HOPING that EQ Next and Planetside 2 will bring them back to where they once were, but with moves like this (the update really isn't saying much. I mean, the decision in the first place is horrible. Seriously) they aren't really inspiring any kind of hope.

It's sad to see layoffs happen to hardworking grunt level guys because of piss poor management decisions :(

Kissing cousins: SWTOR's legacy system explained

Unlocking other races through the legacy system? That seems kind of...pointless. Why have race restrictions to begin with? I might be hating a bit much, but while I like the idea of the legacy system, some of the implementation of it just feels...retarded.

Perfect World demoing Neverwinter and RaiderZ at PAX East

Mar 30th 2012 12:50PM (Massively)
Played Raiderz a bit, it's nothing special. I am looking forward to Neverwinter though. Cryptic generally makes solid games (CO and STO are both good games), so I'm really interested to see what they come out with. The fact that PWE will have a large hand in it though (post-purchase) has me curious and is keeping my anticipation in check though.

WAR40K devs laid off, game will no longer be an MMO

I fucking hate it with horrible executive's make shitty decisions about what the company should be doing, cause massive failures, and then the low level guys get punished. Seriously, THQ has slaughtered its low level guys while the executives who have been driving the company into the ground have been mostly untouched (one left and they all took a paycut, but they're all still making 6 figures).

The Daily Grind: Would you pay extra for a filtered community?

Mar 29th 2012 12:38PM (Massively)
Meh, that's a bit silly. The ignore feature works well enough, and for a lot of the griefing there are easy ways to deal with it. If the game has a dungeon finder system, you don't get grouped with people you put on ignore. Out in the open though, that's more of a problem of the way most MMO's are set up. Setups like in GW2 don't really create an atmosphere conducive to griefing, which is how more games should function.

I wouldn't do it. As much as I hate shitty communities, I can be just as bad as the rest (I've been pretty verbally abusive/trolly in WoW the past few days since my buddy Scroll of Res'd me, forgot how dumb people are) and really don't mind it for the most part. I have thick enough skin from dealing with it over the years that it's not a big deal for me.

Please stop reporting on this. Don't give this asshat any publicity, he doesn't deserve it.

The Daily Grind: What game would you play were it not for the community?

Mar 27th 2012 12:04PM (Massively)
League of Legends. If people didn't suck so much and weren't all complete dickbags, I'd actually play. Other than that I haven't really come across a community that's super shitty in any MMO I've played. I have a pretty damn high tolerance for general douchbaggery (I can be kid of a dick myself), and I've generally found that rather then actively be assholes, most communities will just ignore other people, which I'm totally cool with.
