The Daily Grind: What's the most you'd pay for a collector's edition?

Jul 22nd 2011 3:21PM (Massively)
@Duulin
Wow that totally sums up how I feel about most CE releases lately.
I would pay $150, but the value isn't in this CE for me personally. Personal taste and what I think is valuable affects the decision as much as the price. Eg... Art books/ concept art are worth more to me than a statue.

RIFT founders receive free game client for friends

Lol Trion.. I was about to buy a copy for a friends birthday too...

Now I feel cheap giving them a free copy instead of something I paid for!

@Puremallace You make Rift fans look bad. I love Rift AND I respect that others may not like it. Why can't you?

We can finally make Peter die in a fire. Over and over and over.
This will win the award for worst mmo ever.

I'm a bit disappointed in massively for not pointing out that Beau was duoing. That would've affected his review - could've even been a positive - and its a shame he didn't mention this in his description of his experience. Knowing he was describing a duo play session definitely affected how I (re)read his comments.
Guys! We like to know these things! Environment and context .. devs guiding you, crappy keyboards, playing with friends vs strangers.. affects the experience, we want to know it all!

Also...I'm glad Rubi was honest in her opinion that it wasn't her type of game. This is exactly what the guy who played Rift for an hour should've said.

All that said, I don't expect much from SWTOR except story. Sounds like I won't be disappointed there.

RIFT approaching the one million sell-through mark

@dinhosaur
Lol every game hemorrhages subscribers after launch. People try the new shiny, decide its not for them, and move on.
As long as Trion is still making new sales they are doing well. A lot of mmos are thrown into the bargin bin by now, desperate to attract new players and fight the reputation that the game is buggy and trash. Trion instead has reputation for a decent game, and if people like the fantasy mmo genre, they will probably try Rift out.
Whether or not the game is your cup of tea, you have to admit, a lot of mmos wish they had a launch as good as Rifts to build their game on.

ArcheAge CBT3 review talks crafting, labor points, and nautical exploration

It does sound like this is what ffxiv could've been. Can't wait to try it.
Btw not everyone will use wikis to explore. Not everyone explores just to get the cool stuff. Some explore to... well.. just enjoy the journey into the unknown.
Can't wait!

The Daily Grind: How do you feel about zoomorphs?

May 26th 2011 11:17PM (Massively)
If its there for someone to play one handed, no. If its there for variety and has a decent lore behind it, yes.
Like Miquote in FFXIV. No male catpeople. And sketchy lore to cover it up. That makes their inclusion in the game iffy to me.
At least Worgen in wow is both male and female. With backstory that is believable. Less iffy.
