@srslyyou and everyone else who is bringing up Child of Eden. I don't know the details on how the Kinect controls are for Dragon's Lair work out so I am not referring to that. Steel Battalion on the other hand has been pretty fleshed out as far as control scheme. You aren't using one or the other. You are using both. The controller for the VT movement and the Kinect for other actions, such as pulling your fellow soldier back into the tank when he freaks out and tries to take off or using the fire extinguisher to put out internal fires. This is what people are referring to when they say both controller and Kinect. I state this once again: I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS THE CASE WITH Dragon's Lair. So please do not say that I am saying that. I am only referring to Child of Eden which supports controller or Kinect. Steel Battallion uses both at the same time.
Well, I've read all the comments up to this point and there are some good points as to why it wouldn't work. Thinking really hard on how we could make it work though, I've come up with the following two scenarios. One scenario I don't really like, the other is promising, but I doubt it would work commercially. First scenario, going back to the dawn of Star Wars Galaxies. In The Witcher, I recall that at one time there were a lot of Witchers. By a lot I mean hundreds, but not thousands. With that in mind, it can be like jedis were in the beginning of SWG. There were only a few of them initially and it was really hard to become one. I don't like this scenario because it caters to people who have the time to fulfill those special requirements. Does not apply to me because of RL responsibilities.
Scenario 2: Going back to that earlier time when there were hundreds, but not thousands of witchers. Their numbers were diminished by soldiers and bounty hunters because the general populace feared them. Creating an MMO where players become members of one of these two factions is viable. Soldiers working for the king, or bounty hunters working for the cash. Aside from having to hunt monsters and defeat them, both factions would have to hunt the most vile monsters of all: witchers. Because each faction believes itself to be superior to the other one they would attempt to thwart each other at ANY cost. World PvP no available.
Those are my thoughts, what do you all think? BTW, like a fellow poster mentioned, CD Projekt Red would have to handle this as well.
@Tom in VA I concur Tom. Someone needs to fill the Tabula Rasa slot, and though Bounty Hounds Online and Global Agenda do a decent job, but that full MMO feeling is still missing.
I'll just be traveling the different sights and sounds that the Empire has to offer. All will be very enjoyable as long as the Empire's enemies are brought back in line... what? ME? An Imperial Agent? Do I look like an Operative to you? There goes one right there (*cleans blood off of shiv). You should have just kept walking. The future of the Empire is all that matters.
What would I do first? Well start up a new alt on an RP server and RP my way to Isengard. Probably chronicle the whole thing too. That would be a fun way to celebrate a lifetime VIP membership.
@madbassman39 Defender is boring because most of what makes him interesting does not make it into CO. You'll need to go look at the Champions lore. I have no opinion on who would win in a fight though.
So I'm just going to jump in here real quick and propose this: Lower the cost of video games to $39.99 ($59.99 Collector's Edition, $29.99 sports titles and yearly editions of games) then make the games unplayable if they are bought used. This way, publishers get their money, consumers get their savings and Gamestop has to adjust its policies. (What Gamestop? Not fair? Maybe you should stop opening my new games and removing stuff from it and then selling it as new.)
@Vyris At least here in the US, some parents like to blame video games for everything. So here is a video game company doing what parents say they want and this is what happens. So, what's the solution: Like you said, responsible parenting. Great article!!
Note: The parents upset over this aren't the same parents who blame video games for everything. I should point that out right now before there is any confusion.
@(Unverified) Okay, mister Unverified likes to throw numbers around. I'll take your 12 million subs of WoW and raise you 175,365,991 registered members at Runescape (source: Guinness World Book of Records taken at November 23, 2010). So, F2P's top dog has 175 million plus. Always remember that numbers can always be twisted.
Oh and as I went through the other comments, I forgot about The Elder Scroll Elves. Dragon Age as far as I'm concerned doesn't really do much with the Elf thing. It's more a background thing that you can miss it very easily.
