Congratulations! Love reading your articles on F2P games. I even got sucked back into Zentia after watching you play it a few weeks ago. Keep up the good work!

The Perfect Ten: Shapeshifters

Everquest has some of the BEST illusion classes, I love classes that can change forms. Enchanters, bards and rogues could take the form of any race through spells and masks. I love playing these classes.

Necromancers and Shadowknights get skeletons and specters. Druids also can shift into wolf form and group members also. Magicians can shift into elementals with aa abilities.

DAOC had some really cool shape-shifting classes, banshee and necromancer among others.

*Waves to Syp*

EQ has never, ever been a game to hold a player's hand so it can be confusing to someone who's never played before. While the tutorial isn't the best one you'll find in any game it's better than what it was when the game was fresh and new. There was no tutorial! It was me dying over and over and getting lost and dying and getting lost... It wasn't pretty.

The beauty of Everquest isn't really going to be found in the tutorial either, you won't even get a real feel for your class, honestly. It's a game which has heavy focus on grouping and the game starts to shine in the higher levels when you catch up to the 'rest of the population' in the top heavy world of EQ OR when you start to find other people to group with. It's a lot of fun in groups, the classes really show their true colors when working with others.

It's a rewarding game but it's also an old game and to play it, one has to accept that and not compare it to the new shiny games. It's a pioneer that all those shiny new games followed after! It has been revamped in many areas such as the UI, old zone revamps and other areas but it's hitting it's 12th year running- this year.

The new progression server will give more of a glimpse just how hard it use to be! As someone else mentioned, it is best to have someone to guide you with answers to questions if you're set on playing, It can really help with direction and feeling horribly lost.

Also, as a beastlord (one of my mains, it's a great class) you get a pet at level nine- I know what level you didn't get to ;) And there is a big loot all button at the bottom of the loot screen. It just takes a bit of heart to get to know ol' EQ
