I used to have a friend log my pc into the queue while i was just finishing up at work to avoid the queues.Logging on after about 4pm resulted in an over three to four hour queue. It was something people often complained about in guild chat. I once remember sitting in a four hour queue, that was my longest.
There were 140 servers open for business this past weekend (a pre-launch period in which BioWare staggered waves of invites to legions of early release customers), and more are being added due to queue times approaching two hours.
It was a well reported and known issue at the time. I don't see why anyone would deny it. It went away quicker than most games and BW should be congratulated on that. Although not for much else, in my personal opinion.
I don't see how. Apart from the voice acting space combat(i love both of these) it's pretty much the exact same as any other recent themepark mmo that's came out recently, As the most recent i'll compare it to rift.
If you look at it's endgame features it came with:
Broken world pvp(Same as rift at launch) Three PVP maps(Same as rift i believe? And as imperial you only ever see one of those 90% of the time) One raid(Rift came with one?) Repeated dungeons at cap(Same with rift)
And as far as i know, rift didn't cost nearly as much as that. Then again - I didn't like rift either.
I can't see how BW spent 400 million alone in a space combat mini game and voice actors.
I was telling my guild this was going to happen since i read the patch notes, No-one agreed with me.
Faction imbalance will always leave illum unbalanced unless they do it more like wow does it's open-but-instanced-world-pvp-zones. This just isn't going to be much or a pvp game. Bring on GW2.
From what i've read. Seperate servers(The World vs World relys on this. Three servers against eachother for two weeks at a time), But i've been told they will allow free server transfers like rift.
Every class has there own class quests all the way and ending at 50. However at the same time each area you go to doing your story quest will have loads of normal and world quests other players get too.
If you play as an empire player you'll repeat these area quests but your story quests will be unique.
You also have bonus quests for most and heroic quests are usually in a separate area.
I think it's population went up a lot with the latest EVE expansion. But CCP have changed a lot of peoples minds about EVE recently, A lot of players are coming back.
