It should also be pointed out that while NcSoft is attempting to stop the game in NA, they don't appear to have a problem with the game running in Asia, or launching in EU this spring.

BioWare releases Sith Inquisitor progression video, forums gather launch statistics [Updated]
Dec 9th 2011 8:01PM (Massively)From StephenReid http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=12069505#edit12069505
"Our sales and marketing teams are working closely with retailers in the US (edit: plus Canada) and Europe to ensure that copies of Star Wars: The Old Republic will be delivered in time for launch day."
'Delivered in time' does mean that we are working to ensure retailers ship boxes in time for launch day. When retailers ship those boxes is down to those individual retailers, but the intention here is to ensure that for all of our launch territories, copies are delivered in time for launch day (December 20th).
Nothing can be guaranteed, but that is the intention.
Another post today by Reid http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=12065534#edit12065534
Hello all. Apologies for this taking a while, but I've updated the original post with more details on Origin.com pre-orders.
I do not have a definitive update yet regarding retailers for the US and Canada, although I have had multiple conversations with sales and marketing today. What I'm being told is that retailers are ready to ship copies of The Old Republic 'in good time' for launch day on December 20th.
I'm going to continue to work with our sales and marketing teams over the weekend, and if we have any more major updates, we'll post them on the new community blog as the Forums will be being overhauled.
Looks to me as though the problem is being addressed.
South Korea puts the 'Cinderella Law' into effect
Nov 23rd 2011 10:35PM (Massively)I wasn't attacking the law but the protestors who were saying it was a civil rights violation.
On the other hand, how could this law possibly be enforced? Perhaps things are different in Korea, but in the US I don't think I've ever had an mmorpg ask my age other than to agree to the tos, but even then a kid could click yes anyways.
But what could be the real penalty even if we could find a way to enforce a law like this? Or for that matter what penalty can Korea realistically implement?
In the end the punishment would really end up on the parents head, which brings up back to this being a parenting issue and not a matter for the government.
