An outsider's look inside Guild Wars 2
Mar 26th 2012 9:58AM (Massively)The world in GW2 gives me this EQ1 feel from back in the day.
I have been playing EQ1 since it went F2P and I forgot how large the world is. Most MMO's today feel confined and scaled down.

Mar 22nd 2012 9:06AM (Massively)I bought a Wii for Zelda so probably. But there was hype for the Wii back then.

Mar 19th 2012 7:11PM (Massively)Yup, this. The license is probably not being renewed.
Its likely that this game will just die. GW couldn't continue to run the game if the license reverts back to them. There are usually patents that the developer holds for certain technologies and its doubtful Bio/My would license those out to GW.

Mar 17th 2012 7:19PM (Massively)So, I couldn't really believe what I was reading.
So, how is a stealth sale stealthy if they put up advertisements on all pages? It even has the time the sale ends. Its still on the webpage now.
Grocery stores, malls, gas stations and every business in the world do daily sales all the time with no advertisement at all beyond a tag change in the store. Do you boycott all retail establishments and service providers?
I don't see why SOE is held to a different standard that everyone else in the world.
I think you're looking for a reason to not play and just grasped at anything to justify it. Its okay to just not want to play. You don't have to play every game.

Mar 17th 2012 10:07AM (Massively)Its actually not that restrictive. SOE players tend to wine about everything. They once complained when SOE tried to upgrade the UI and give extra hotbars, which is standard in every MMO.
If you want to raid seriously, then you have to pull out money but if you're just casual grouping you can stay bronze and no one would notice till you're past 60.

Mar 16th 2012 10:59PM (Massively)250 for AA and Task cap raisers. They only apply to one character though. Most of the stuff in SOE cash shops seems reasonable. Also, SC are 2 for one today and tomorrow.

Mar 16th 2012 10:57PM (Massively)That's what that Euro publisher told a chat room when all the dust up happened. No official word BUT everything else is either shutting down or going free. PS and VG are the only paid games left I think.
