@Space Cobra I work at Gamestop. They have so many games in for pre-order with hokey dates simply so they can be pre-ordered, the only time a release date is accurate is when the company officially announces it and there are posters and ads everywhere. I pre ordered GW2 CE 2 months ago for 79.99 and it says the release date is march 1st. obvs not going to happen.
@ArcherAvatar I work at Gamestop. The CE is 79.99 and I already pre-ordered it. It gives a ballpark release date of march. but it's rough and judging by this announcement it'll be later. But still. This is exciting :D
I know we all love shameless spamming but... Me and some friends have started a youtube channel covering all manner of games. I'm the MMO guy.. But I kinda suck. A lot of you have great opinions and know what you want to see. We have a LOTRO series on right now. But I'm completely at a loss for where I should go with it.
@BoundingDeer speaking of combat and having to use all my skills. giving me more and more skills that do more and more different things might look complex but it really, in my opinion, should be less skills, more attention to those skills. customization. and learning to use what you have. not always getting more more MOAR.
I like when a game makes me use my brain to solve problems. even old platformer bosses who had a pattern to defeat required some thought and timing skill to complete. Combat that requires me to use all of my skills to survive, and crafting that requires me to use my creativity to add and modify. These kinds of things are good. it's not always a physical challenge that is needed but a mental one. which can be accomplished during raids and stuff, having to work with other people. but in the end... anything if not done in moderation will become tedious. Go outside more often and games will be more fun. That's my thinking anyways.
So many good titles. I feel like we've been stuck with the same games for far too long. Please... Someone... Anyone... Make a game that will make me stick around for more than a few months..
Have yet to try Pathfinder. In the middle of a DnD Campaign but I might check it out after. It would be cool to see an adaptation of it that isn't confined to dungeons. In my opinion, combat is a very minimal part of the pen and paper experience. Having the open world to explore and really roleplay would be nice.
