Guild Wars 2's character creator brings celebrities to Tyria

@eLdritchZ

...neither does Wikipedia.

But so you know, I've always post with this handle, whether it's here, Free Thoughts Blogs, or where ever else. It's because I don't want to be percieved as a drive-by troll that uses different handles to stir up trouble. What I object to, is being forced to normalize my handle under this new system...that does not use any of the third party agents that recongnizes this handle; but ones I use for a very select individuals.

I thought the reader should be given far more options, such as using their old Massively account or those 6 sites. After all, if Joystiq doesn't want one to post ever...just ban the user's IP. So Shuster's claim doesn't really fly. But it does remind me of this quote...since this new system is supposed make commenting a little more safe:

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin

...just saying.

@ Faction 3

Lol!

@Everyone else

This looks the last time I'll be posting here. Since the new comment system is not honoring my account here. And 2 of the 6 sites listed that I can't log in with because it uses my real name - that's simply unacceptable. And one that supposedly recognize's my WordPress account, doesn't. So I guess I am SoL.

...or maybe not, since a friend has offered to set me up with alternative account to the 3 I can't use. But we will see how that works. Perhaps I'll have something by the beginning of next week...where then I get to post an offical blue streak at Joystick for horribly inconveniencing me.

And remember, the best comment systems are the ones that lets everyone comment without hassle. This new system fails in so many ways in doing that. /shrug

...sorry for the off topic though. :(

Naw...the real challenge would be if they could pull off a Keith Richards.

Though stupidity and subjectivity often don't correlate.

@Chiren

I think the samples veiwings where spead up so we don't have to watch hours per character creation of how these where done. Therefore, they look far more fidgetty than they really are.

The Soapbox: Casual is as casual does

Apr 4th 2012 12:58AM (Massively)
I play games because I enjoy them. This in of itself dismiss makes both casual and hardcore redundant, since how one plays the game changes of what one wants to do in it. For example, in Wrath (WoW) I raided big time...till it drove me insane - does that made me a hardcore raider? Fair enough. But in Cata all I want to do is level characters - so does this make me a hardcore leveller?

This even got more ridiculous when a few weeks ago I was arguing with some less than enlightened individuals who claimed that building tractors to harvest crops in he up coming ArcheAge was "hardcore". I think I realised then just how silly and adsurd these terms are....

...thank you Elliot for reminding me of this.

The article wasn't defending casuals, it was dismissing the term altogether. Please re-read it before you comment again. Thanks.

Prime World charges women less to play, 'protects' them in mixed groups [Updated]

@Space Cobra

No, not really...

...for a transitioning trangender this would really suck.

Besides it's still begs the question: Why is it important that this game insists that you are identified with your RL gender? It's really none of their *bleep*ing business. And it's a fantasy game after all; you should play what you want to play with impunity. Just saying.

You know, since women love to shop...men must love to steal everything they need or want...
