This is the best article I've seen on Massively in a long time. I came to the same realization a long time ago. Since then I try to help people whenever I can. Or at least comfort the people who get cursed at and told to wiki/Google their question....
@ClassicCrime Yeah, I have not done the math myself. That is why I just said that is what I heard. When I joined my current guild they advised me that playing well in the end game required a lot of money. They didn't specify, but I found a thread where they did the math for purchasing a full set of top level runes for all slots. I did not check the math, though, and took it for granted that the number I was throwing around was correct.
@Beau Hindman Even if no player has spent $5k on runes, $5k or more was spent by players to create the runes some players are wearing. There is no other way to get them without cash shop only items.
I am playing Allods while SOE's service is out and I am having fun! I am *very* picky, too. My major complaints are lack of a chat filter and many commands users assume will be in a game; /who and /reply for example. Also, the end game is fully Pay to Win. I am told a full set of "runes" in the game costs $15,000 US in the cash shop. This is the minimum limit. So say you *only* spent $5,000 some woman that stopped feeding her cats to buy gpotatoes will beat you *every time*.
Luckily I enjoy the trip more than the destination!
Wow, it is hard to imagine that someone that wrote so much great poetry is also responsible for those hacking attacks! Honestly, I don't think there is a discrete entity called "Anonymous". They use the word like its denotative meaning, they are unknown and don't know each other. Trying to make them into some sports team or something is just bad thinking.
The fact that you ruined the visuals of your website isn't really funny. Breaking basic rules of readability and design is embarrassing. You should be ashamed.
The new site design is very disconcerting. The balance is lopsided, making the reader's eyes wander as they attempt to read an article. The excessive white space makes the problem even worse. Reading articles on the site is now a chore. To accomplish this the design must have been on purpose. I don't understand why any commercial site would want less views, though?
I also had problems signing up for an account. When I submitted my registration, nothing happened. The screen stayed the same even after data had stopped transferring. I hit the "submit" button again and got an error. I was about to just give up but decided to check my email and a confirmation was there.
If the design is far, far worse and the back end is similar to the old but with different problems, why did anyone think it was a good idea to make this change? Please consider fixing the problems you have created.
