Either I'm dumb and the answer to this question is obvious, or he missed a big question, anyway here it is: how does cross server queue's work for different regions? are the servers you queue with only going to be from your region? by that I mean if I queue from an oceanic server and someone else queue's from a american server and we both get into the same wz, what server are we playing on? because I'm only transfering to an oceanic server to cure pvp latency, but if I'm still pvping on a US server whats the freaking point?
On no.9: Humor Some of the death animations of mobs are hilarious, like ive never seen before. from the mob that falls onto its own sword, to the little goblin who rolls back & ends with its ass poking in the air & his toes by his ears, to the birds that plummet & burry their heads into the ground with their feet sticking up... they cant be explained, just have to be seen, crack up.
2. PQ's did not spawn invasions to invade player hubs, I even saw an invasion against the Defiant capital (meridian)
3. PQ's would not spawn randomly, they were always the same, always there
4. You would not recieve quests relating to PQ's like you do for rifts
5. there were not zone wide PQ events like there are for rifts
I know most people know this, but calling a rift a PQ is misinformation.
I can see how some prefer the rewards system from PQ's compared to rifts, as you actually got gear from PQ's.
The ploblem I found with that was It just ended up being a straight line gear progression from PQ to PQ, zone to zone, and I ended up only doing the PQ's which had gear that I actually needed, otherwise what was the point as it wasn't the fastest way to lvl either.
In rift you recieve currency which can be saved up & used to buy (This is what I found so far, there may be more things) items that boost crafted gear, or epic gear itself (as well as other rewards such as planar stat boosting items which can be sloted onto your toon, among other rewards, but the main reward I think is the planar currency). Some people might not like it because they dont like having to grind gear that way, much like honor or tokens in wow, but I love it & heres why:
1. you won't have to pick & choose rifts like I said I did with PQ's as all rift rewards will be useful.
2. you end up with sweet epics if thats what you decide to use the currency on.
3. it provides a new & alternative way to acquire epics other that dungeon/raid running or pvp currency (which rift also has both of aswell).
@Nucleon I think you might be forgetting that rifts occur randomly & on different scales. sure I completed major rifts with a zerg, but I also completed minor rifts with 1 or 2 players, & have experienced everthing in between. Its not as black and white/succeed or fail as you make it out to be
@Malagarr I have AMD 2.7 ghz, 4 gb ram (3.25 being used), geforce 9800 gt, win 7... on a north american server from new zealand & I run it on custom settings near max with lag only durring huge battles
@DannyKay same, rift can be linear if you want it to be, but with rift events, artifacts, & random treasures abound I found in beta 5 it can also be a non linear journey full of exploration as well.
@Eric Francis In beta 5 I found the best xp in rifting. Also i cant wait to follow an invasion from my own faction npc's in a contested zone against a hub of the other faction, should be fun, new, different pvp or pve depending on if there are competitors around... AND i dont care about the xp gain from it.
