@cingeto buy more gems with what money? so you need alot of money in real life to stay competative in amounf of gold in game..
people play sub games becouse its set amount and you get acces to all, everyone has acces to every way to get money in game on equal terms either you be a millionaire in real life, or a normal worker.
A gem at the start might be worth 100 gold, the ones selling the gems will soon earn alot of cash, while the ones buying them will be stuck at a low amount of gold.
Then the "gem" sellers will put up the prizes becouse another 100 gold does nothing for them, and soon theyll cost 1000 gold, so the ones buying the gems with gold have to farm even more OR go to a goldselling site and buy gold.
When someone then say "selling sword of xxx" and the item goes to bidding war, the gem buyer will have a huge amount of money and "win" the bid for it without the normal player having any chance. Gear is not that important in GW2 no, but there will still be some items, be it for looks or other.
The further the game goes on, the more the gems will cost, and the more money the gemsellers will hoard and set the price, forcing the non gem buyers to farm, bot or buy gold on offsites. The gem buyers havent done anything in game, other then having a big wallet in real life. Thats why i hate f2p games. Ill still play GW2, but i dread the economy.
Inflation will hit GW2 hard if they have gems, items in item shop should only be buyable and gifted.
There is PvP, we know that, but what in terms of PvE are there? like achievement collecting, not daily/montlhy quests which they call achievements in GW2, but "gather all items here to get title, or kill 100 of these kind of mobs to get this" or like in Rift, the arftifact collecting. What other things for endgame are there between the PvP fights when you want to steam down a bit?
Spell Effects
Ive watched some videos and there way to much spelleffects, is there any plans to tone that down. Also some effects look very "sprity".
WvWvW areas
One thing that DaoC Old Frontiers did well was to "funnel" people into narrow paths that forced players to fight it out, when they released New Frontiers however, they made the areas to big and rather then fighting, people started avoiding eachother "ninjataking" keeps while they were busy in other places. How do GW2 solve this problem? WvWvW should be about massive fights, not avoiding your enemy.
