Yes it has been a game changer. I stopped playing the game due to Cataclysm. This is officially the "jump the shark" moment for WoW, and it should be clear by the content decisions they've made.
While news on something other than story is welcome... I am pretty much sickened at how much you are required to use companions in this game. It's an MMO and social interaction should be the preferred method of engaging and progressing.
But you have to go back to the source... back to the origin.
It was BioWare who announced the game - and provided a full-on community site - more than 2.5, maybe 3 years before the the game will hit store shelves.
What did they think would happen? That's the ultimate hype right there... Our game is so enormous, we need 3 years to talk about it before you can play it. But then in the mean time, also release no game information. Just story.

If you change that to "will" and "all" if your crafting, you can see how NPCs are being forced on you in what should be a social game.
