The Daily Grind: Is the sub fee preventing you from playing DC Universe Online?

Jan 25th 2011 6:55AM (Massively)
I think it's crazy they released at such a high price point with Champions Online going Free 2 Play (probably they'd figured that price into their costings long before COF2P was announced).

At $20 a month Australian, I probably won't continue long past the first month. Will head back in a year's time and see what's happening.

"Let's give this a little more direction. Everyone needs to rez and get their picture taken with Garrosh. You figure out the inbetween parts".

Brilliant!

The Daily Grind: Will Incarna get you to try EVE?

Very much agreed with your comments about it being more fun to read about than play. I've resubbed 4 times now with an '07 char and have around 30M skillpoints. In that time I've taken part in massive 0.0 warfare, high-sec Orca suicide ganks and large mining ops. The problem I always had with it was unless you committed the time, you never really got any good at any of it. That sorta holds true for most games, but in EVE it carries a lot more weight.

I won't be back a 5th time, but I'll read every article you guys release about it :)

The Daily Grind: Have you gotten spouse aggro?

My wife struggles with it, but my previous addictions were hard drugs and women so she's knows this is much healthier!

To be honest, half the problem with any previous partners have been that they themselves don't have a hobby and expect you to sit and stare at the TV because that's 'spending time together'. I spend two nights a week with my wife talking, playing on the wii, watching television and cuddling... the rest of the time I do my own thing (apart from naughty stuff which is always welcome).

Gaming is too enjoyable to give up.. and any woman who asked me to give up gaming for her is not the kind of person I want to be around

The Daily Grind: Who's your dev crush?

CCP!

Their commitment to EVE in every way is phenomenal. To hell with fleet-lag, the purity of the EVE concept and scarily life-like nature of their creation excites me at the mere thought of it. Even when I haven't got an active sub, I read up on all the latest news. They really have created another realm... because of EVE at times I seriously wonder if we're all in some kind of hideously futuristic MMO and that death is merely your player un-subbing.

I so agree with you.. the first thing that jumped out at me was moving while casting.

I am so looking forward to this... I only recently got back into Guild Wars (after reading about its storyline on Massively) and am incredibly impressed by its depth. 100's of skills (seemingly) but a limit on what you can carry makes it very tactical. And despite the sometimes bland nature of environments when your entire party is setting off a cacophony of spells it looks MAGNIFICENT!

The Daily Grind: What class will you never, ever play?

Aug 18th 2010 8:26AM (Massively)
Completely agree. I suck enough at RTS's that the mere thought of bringing NPC-management to an MMO's shits me to tears. Even my little pet in Guild Wars that does absolutely nothing is a pain in the butt.

The Daily Grind: How many games can you play at once?

Aug 14th 2010 8:32AM (Massively)
Recently I've tried to play AoC and Aion at the same time and was even considering throwing WoW and CO back into the mix. It was just too much.

My new plan is to have all of those games + EVE + GW installed and then change the sub to a different game each month.

Sounds like a good idea to me :)
