LOL, if only you guys could have seen the customization we had in the late summer beta build. Way the hell more mods and mod types and nearly every piece of gear was 100% moddable.
Now there's orange gear... lol. Half of the sets aren't even complete, crafted orange sets have no boots, gloves, or belts, and all of that hard work picking up set pieces in preparation for 1.2 was all for naught since pre-1.2 gear's armorings won't move set bonuses to moddables.
Talk about trolling, Bioware. I spent tons of time crammed away in warzones and on broken Ilum grinding out dailies so I could get my champ gear. Not to wear it of course, all of TOR's endgame is pretty much the worst looking garbage in gaming history, but in preparation for 1.2 so I could move the set bonuses and armorings from them to my TD-17A Colossus armor set.
But whoops, that's a no-go. Only post 1.2 set armor pieces get to have their set bonuses transferred with the armoring.
Honestly, the game isn't good enough to put up with this so I unsubbed. All of the 1.2 armor looks like trash anyways.
With Planetside 2 on the horizon, and Planetside 2 doing everything better, and with Planetside 2 being released on the PC, could someone explain to me what the point of Dust 514 is again?
Because it basically looks like a ghetto console match-based version of Planetside 2.
"BW did good. I want to play every class to endgame and I know that between side quests, bonus quests, space missions and PvP, I can do that and have almost entirely unique experiences with all of my characters. "
This is such a lie.
There are only two truly unique content paths in the game: Republican and Imperial. As far as same faction characters are concerned the only difference in content is the class storyline which comprises about 5% of the overall content available to any single character.
There's nothing "off the rails" in this game at all and the only instance of making decisions is simply refusing a quest (which is ultimately pointless). All decisions, no matter how disparate, all lead to the same inevitable conclusions.
TOR is easily the most pedestrian and least ambitious MMO ever made. Casuals like it though; more power to them.
Voice chat is the reason my guild has lasted over five years. No matter what games we are or aren't playing as a guild or individually all of could always come together to socialize on our Vent server.
I would only be interested in a ME MMO if Bioware actually stayed true to the gameplay of the trilogy rather than regurgitating a second WoW plagiarization on us.
That being said, a real Mass Effect MMO would basically need Planetside 2's scope in terms of battle and warfare to be convincing and Bioware simply isn't capable of software engineering on that level.
In other words, this is a game that Bioware will never be capable of making.

This is not a MMO I will ever revisit.
