The Daily Grind: Which MMO doesn't get the respect it deserves?

Apr 4th 2012 12:13AM (Massively)
@eromair I totally understand about the time commitment. I'm amazed at some of the hours some people can sit there and play the game lol. I have the same dream of it being redone for sure. Marty has done a great job keeping it alive and is still looking to update the game and add new things. I too have yet to find a game that is like Project Visitor.

@eromair It's still around and there seems to be old vets popping back in from time to time quite often. The one thing the game needs is people for sure. It's a full PVP only game so if you are fighting someone or something, it's another player or belongs to another player. I would absolutely love to see the game redone with a newer graphics engine. Unfortunately these days a lot of people look at how the game looks before giving it a shot. Having a newer graphics engine behind it would help with that. It's been talked about for a long time but it is a huge task for the one or two guys that run the game right now. The devs have talked about trying to get help and/or funding to redo the game but I guess so far no go. I hope someday it happens.

@Dianoga4 Sorry for the double post, I thought the first one didn't go through and hit submit again. :(

Project Visitor. Yes the game is old and dated but it's still around and people still play it. Thousands of people used to play the game in its hay day. It still has its hardcore fans that are always around. It's one of those games that the more people that are playing, the more fun it can be. It has a bit of a learning curve but the gameplay itself is great. Nothing like you and a few buddies taking some tanks into someone else's base and trying to take it down while him and his buddies try to stop you. Some epic battles have been fought.

You have Brick-Force in both the Alpha and Open beta sections. As well you have World of Warplanes in the Alpha and Closed section.

The Daily Grind: What MMO have you recently deleted from your hard drive?

@Vinzix Yea that's pretty much why I stopped playing as well. I just don't have the cash to upgrade my computer rignt now to play one game when I can still play most others.

See TERA's Lancer and Sorcerer in action

@ShivanSwordsman Don't forget about The Chronicles of Spellborn, another action combat game. I think the combat in Spellborn was ahead of it's time and that's why some people couldn't get into it as much. Perhaps with games like Tera getting more popularity it will help revive games like Spellborn...hopefully.

The Daily Grind: What dead game would you play in a second if it revived?

@Rhodanum Totally agree, I would love to be able to play Spellborn again. The combat system is my favorite of any RPG game I've played yet. Yea the game needed some work but that could've happened if it hadn't of been for poor mismanagement. The mismanagement killed the game more than anything. I still read of rumors once in a while that the game might still get a new publisher and be resurrected. I sure hope so, it deserves a better chance than it had.
