I hear more and more about political influence in the mmo genre, but I haven't seen a game so far that does it correctly. And how is that? Going all crazy on politics, in such level that the game could be ruined for players on a server.
You will probablythink that such a system would not be fun. Well, first of all, you choose to play on a game like this and secondly, there would be a system that would encourage you to fight and get that a$$holes off of their throne and down on their knees! Fight for freedom and justice, not only for phat lewt :D
I hope ArcheAge does it right. I really hope because I like the way the game is shaping.
One of the selling points of WoW, as it was advertised before its release, was the ability to customize your character the way you wanted. Now, they scrap the whole system.
As I see it, they have went sort on new ideas, so they make changes just for the sake of "we have changed that, added those" etc.
TheJestersHat: What is BioWare planning to do about performance issues that people get with Warzone, open world PVP, and general FPS issues?
Damion Schubert: We have an internal strike team that is fully devoted to ensuring that the game runs better and faster, especially on low end machines, and we consider this team's work to be a crucial internal initiative. You should see evidence of this work as soon as Patch 1.1.5, when we will be introducing a new 'very low' setting to shader quality, which should drastically increase the number of mid-to-low machines the game can run well on, especially in Warzones and Operations.
Really? You say that players' machines have not enough power to run the game smoothly? Even the most high-end ones? You will focus on low settings, even though 9 out of ten people have issues? Why don't they just say that they are sorry for the mess and that they will work hard to fix it? Because, they think it is not their game's fault...
Really boring Q&A with NO REASON to be published in the first place. They didn't mention anything worth to wait about. Nothing. "We will see", "we are looking into it", "Not in the near future"... Congrats once again Bioware for creating the most overhyped MMO in the history!
We even call online shooters MMOs most of the time (MMOFPS). This is right for games like Planetside 2, but not games like Battlefield, Counter Strike etc.
Hey mate. Actually, I am not that much into scifi MMOs, I like fantasy ones more. When I referred to vanilla WoW, I meant the feeling of exploration, being able to interact with characters from the books and previews rpg/strategy games of Warcraft universe and lastly the fact that it was fun to play.
I enjoyed the game before TBC, where I reached max level after 4 months. I was logging in just to say hello to our great guild, from which I have met alot of nice people with whom I keep in touch until today.
I only played in beta phases of SWTOR and I didn't like all the linearity that has to offer, nor the TL;DR dialogues and cutscenes. There is something called immersion and (unfortunately?) I didn't feel that in any way.
I am not a hater of any game or anything. I am a news and tech editor for a greek gaming site and I am browsing the forums and several websites and keep myself updated. The customer care and behavior in general of Bioware's staff towards their customers has me worrying.
I am a gamer for as long as I remember myself. I have played hundreds and hundreds of MMOs, from crappy ones to great ones and I have never seen such behavior and lack of experience so far.
I wish SWTOR the best, I hope it turns out to be a really great and immersive game. So far though, it is a let down from "my" prespective.
I read all those comments "give Bioware some time". Why exactly? You are paying NOW to play, why give time to the development house to fix the game? Shouldn't you demand free game time or something?
You are paying right now, the game should have been fine.
I love how the comments that against the game are getting massive negative rating. Keep up the good job fanboys. One day Bioware will reward you for this. *clap clap clap*
