Was a very interesting game even with its flaws. Just needed some more TLC and time. Good move going F2P to get more people to try it out. Can't wait to see what the new publisher does with the game.

Final Fantasy XIV grants players a month of freedom and revamped markets

I'm enjoying the game even with all it rough spots. Another 30 days of free play suits me just fine. Nice to see some communication from the company that is known to have horrible communication with its player base. Looking to forward to what they can do in another month and how the player base reacts.

The cities and world of Final Fantasy XIV

Aug 19th 2010 11:16PM (Massively)
There are still tweaks to be made but overall I'd say the game in on track. I can deal with the 48hr leve time down, but Im also concerned about the lack of the auction house with no viable alternative in game just yet.

Overall, I loved the video and can't wait to be able to play in other cities.

Free for All: Assumptions based on assumptions

At a gut level, a lot of F2P just doesn't grab me enough to play a bit longer. I usually pick up a title and play for a week or so, then I usually find myself not going back or no need to open the game up. There are a lot of F2P games that want you to spend money, aren't that good but there are some out there that are done well and give you a pleasurable experience. Hard part mostly is just finding them. Even though MMOs across the board are similiar in one way or another, its because there are so many MMOs, people just group them together naturally to filter the infomation. In a subscription model MMO, since its a small market I believe people treat them individually when weighing the pros and cons. So the subscription model is treated as a seperate beast from the many F2P games out there. Hopefully a good F2P can be produced and break that boundry and have people see all MMOs are in the same catergory and all should be treated diffrent whether there copies of another game or a game that just doesn't produce the goods.
