As for the game, I love it. If you like RPGs, give it a shot. Play a mage, it's amazing.

I have a feeling that eventually they'll copy TOR and make bosses only drop gear that can be used by someone in the group.

I'm a former Rift subscriber and I've been playing the Lite version all afternoon. I couldn't log on to any of my characters that were over level 20, and I couldn't make more than 2 characters on any server, but I was free to choose any server I wanted to play on. I could also use the mailbox, chat channels, crafting, all that stuff like normal. The only restriction I did find was I couldn't equip epic items like my bonus hats. I didn't check to see if I could use the AH but I didn't really have any reason to browse it at such a low level.

From what I hear it is much less restrictive than WoW's unlimited trial thing, but I never played that so I wouldn't know.

Who cares?

I am looking forward to GW2 more than any other game right now. Not only that but I am an avid collector of stuffed animals that are "different": teddy bears are BORING! I have a red panda, an okapi, a California Condor, a manatee, a Utahraptor AND a giant T-Rex, two seahorses, a snowy owl, a camel, 3 turtles, 2 orcas, 2 penguins, 4 pokemon, a warlock, a mountain goat, an otter, a wind rider, and a cabbit. Among many, many others.

This little guy would fit right in :)
