Flameseeker Chronicles Extra: Guild Wars 2 crafting explained

Feb 22nd 2012 7:27PM (Massively)
"If you've already picked up two crafting disciplines, the Master will ask you which, if any, you want to drop. Feel free to do that; you can always switch back to another discipline, and all of your skill progress will be saved."

Isn't this going to have a negative impact on the economy? Or am I misunderstanding how this is going to work? Everyone can do everything, or......

All games have bugs, and a lot also depends on your rig. Personally, I've not had any major issues with running the game, or the game itself.

EA reveals SWTOR subscription and sales numbers, beats financial predictions [Updated]

@Deadalon

"This pretty much means that EA will not have any problems cutting the funding to the game if it doesn't hold 1 million subs over longer period of time."

No. EA would probably not have any problem cutting funding if it can't maintain 500k subs to maintain at least a break even point. At one million subs, profits are still profits.

The Daily Grind: How often do you want new abilities?

@Wisdomandlore

Along those same lines, I like the chain skills approach that Aion took. You only had access to certain abilities once other abilities were fired off. You had to pay attention to what you're doing, as these chain skills did not have 100% proc rates all the time.

On topic though, if there are levels in a game, damn right I'd better get something out of the "ding." Otherwise what's the point?

And with most games, the "low-medium-high" gives you that idea.

@Ratham

Let's look at your ideas point-by-point:

>Limit players in the zone based on the underdog side

When does this kick in? 2 Empire and 1 Republic enter; so at that point do you prevent any more Imperials from zoning into Ilum?

>Give a % buff to the underdog side based on the ratio of how out numbered they are

Assuming it's all zerg-vs-zerg, maybe would work. But I'd hate to go in there looking for some pvp as a solo player on the non-underdog side.

>Npcs for every person they're out #'d by

Again, applicable only in zerg-vs-zerg situations.

>Add a 3rd faction just for Ilum with monster-play style classes

Er...not sure about this one.

>Add incentives to re-roll / play Republic

Please see Aion and how that's working out over there.

>Turn Ilum into a large 24v24 warzone

Ummm, turn open world into an instanced warzone? I think they have that already:P

Who is the "they" you are referring to? I don't recall where EA/Bioware predicted a certain retention percentage, unless you can dig up a source?
