Craig Zinkievich leaving Star Trek Online's bridge

Jul 6th 2010 5:02PM (Massively)
This game failed at launch and is still sinking at a rapid pace. I took my time leveling in it and explored around and in one month post launch I was left with nothing to do at max level except the same two hours worth of repeatable content day in and day out.

All the instancing has disrupted a sense of community as I watched a friends list of over 100+ drop to four or five online.

This game was simply not ready for launch, it was not complete and lacked several key systems including and immersive and expansive end-game. It severely lacks dynamic content and most times feels like you are playing in a box on a console game with just others hanging around.

It does not surprise me he is leaving (or was asked to leave) as this ship has crashed already. What almost six months from beta and there have only really been a few things added to the game content-wise? It was not set up for an end-game, many systems that players were promised would be in are still not in, it lacks a community err MMO gamestyle. I don't think the new guy sis going to be able to pull this out of the nose-dive unless they take that "army" of devs and start fleshing out more content.

Choose my Adventure: Fresh meat

Asmiroth I do pity you that after all these years you have not moved on from a change that happened in a computer game so many years ago. I honestly feel sorry for you that you are so bitter still that you cannot even conceive that the game ahs made a great many strides in advancement since that point. I feel concerned that you have been so jaded by what has happened to you in an imaginary pixelated computer world. It is very sad that after these many years all you have is to negatively lash out while we still have one of the greatest MMOs still on the market.

Do tell us what game most people like then?

I have tried Coh/Cov, STo, WoW, EvE, D&D online just to name a few and all but EvE fell way short.

SWG is probably the most sandbox game on the market now, you can seriously log in and take part in any number of systems to occupy yourself from heavy combat to crafting to collections. All other game pale in compairson to what you can do in SWG on a daily basis. If you were to sit down and do an Invasion, all the heroics, Hoth, some PvP, some crafting, some collecting, some space you would find you have been engaged for a whole day.
