The music in those videos is not up to LOTRO standards.

I disagree completely. If you look at the way the wind is blowing WoW is on the decline. Sure it has more subs than any other game but how do you expect WoW to die? Will it wake up one day and everyone is gone? No, at first there will be a trickle of people exiting - this started in the first 3 months after Cataclysm. Then that trickle will become a stream - this started about six months after it began and was highlit by TotalBiscuit jumping ship. Finally the stream will become a flood - this will happen by the middle of next year once SWTOR and GW2 have put their hooks into the playerbase. Once the core WoW gamers leave, the population will be noticeably smaller and the non gamer players will wonder where everyone went. They will eventually follow the crowd and WoW will officially be in its twilight. I suspect many people would have written the same article about EverQuest prior to the arrival of WoW and we all know how that turned out. The genre is evolving and WoW is now very much behind the times.

Flameseeker Chronicles: Round two - Fight!

In my experience, Guild Wars 1 as a whole feels exactly like how you described part one of this new content. I think its a shame that there's so much cool stuff in the Hall of Monuments but I have to endure almost unbearable gameplay to unlock it.

Give them time - it's tough being on massively public camera when you're not used to it. All in all I thought they did a fine job.

I have a feeling that a Classic Era Star Wars MMO will be back within 10 years and it will be earth shatteringly cool.

The Daily Grind: When do NDAs get counterproductive?

Well I don't blame them I mean look how badly things turned out for ArenaNet after they let Bloggers visit their offices - the public learned all sorts of new stuff about the game and the anticipation level increased noticeably. Warhammer Online is a different sort of product I guess, maybe being forgotten and left for dead works for them.

As for them being paranoid about excessive negative feedback - if that is a real possibility maybe it's time to hire some new designers. Figuring out what the community would like after many years of the game being live shouldn't be a 50-50 shot kind of challenge.

Fallout Online offers up a large FAQ

This game has the smell of doom around it. How someone could dare to throw millions of dollars at a project without having a solid legal footing is beyond me.

I love the oh so professional warning about discussing other Fallout products.
