I'm with you on dropping Radiance, but please limit the pop culture to a minimum (or preferably, not at all).

It works in a game like WoW, where its been a staple since the old RTS games. LOTRO is meant to immerse you in Tolkien's world, which is going to be VERY hard when you start seeing Zapp Brannigan .

This, this, a hundred times this.

EVERY race in SWG is a reskinned human, albeit with a different set of hands/feet or head. Hell, most games are the same way. Its just easier slightly adjust and throw a different skin on the wireframe, requiring less time and resources.

I'd suggest downloading RivaTuner, and cranking the fan speed of your video cards up to 11. It'll get noisy, but greatly help the temperature.

Activision/Blizzard stocks fell because neither have released anything worthwhile this summer. Starcraft 2 just came out, and you have a new Guitar Hero, DJ Hero and Call of Duty game out before the end of the year.

With the entrenched player base that will buy the expansion WHENEVER it drops (and the numerous re-subscribers that will return as well), they could hold off Cataclysm to Q1 2011 and still make bank this year.

Having just finished Souther Barrens on my Druid, there is definitely a "Holy Crap, war is everywhere" vibe. Some of the Alliance quests have you arresting looters in the ruins of Taurajo, and later the Alliance commander responsible for allowing Taurajo citizens to flee (as opposed to massacring them) is murdered by Horde assassins and hung from a tree. Southern Barrens is pretty well done, neither side is blameless here.

Plus, Mankrik is now an elite blademaster destroying Quillboar by himself.

Anyone else think this shark looks like they added a saddle to the big one from Finding Nemo?

DAoC was my first MMORPG, and I still have fond memories.

I was there for the release of Darkness Falls, and remember the days of raiding keeps for hours to unlock the dungeon. It was glorious!
