The Secret World pre-order packages feature beta access, lifetime sub, and more

@OmegaDestroyer

So pre-order it then? Amazon doesn't charge until they ship, and Funcom doesn't appear to be charging until release, so it's not hard to place a pre-order, try the betas, and then decide.

Yes, it's totally outrageous to have to pay more than the normal game price to get more than the normal inclusion of goodies with the game.

No, wait, it's not. It's called optional for a reason.

"The fact that game companies these days want us spend our money on things without us even being able to get a taste of what the game is like, is just so backwards from the way it should be. Its like being forced to pick between whats behind curtain number 3, or under the box. We dont know if whats there will be something we like or not, but regardless, we are stuck with it."

What the hell are you talking about?

Never before have we seen so many options to play games (MMOs in particular) BEFORE having to buy them. I sure don't remember getting to play demos or open beta weekends of UO, EQ, AC, etc. Nor did I ever see any "try before you buy" features for any NES, SNES, etc games.

It's only now that you frequently see these "Try before you buy" mass betas where, guess what, you can preorder and then CANCEL THE PREORDER after playing the beta before the game comes out.

You're getting *exactly* what you want here - the ability to play the beta weekends and try the game before actually buying (ie, being charged for) it. What do you have to complain about?

As far as I recall from Vampire, Prince is used as a gender-neutral title.

That's all it was - feeling. Same abilities, same stats, same talents, same numbers. There was no difference.

That's what I said earlier up. Sure you have the people who always want to play the same race (elf lovers, etc) but otherwise it seems like a very bland reward.

You're expecting far too much; you're going to have the exact same experience and dialogue as any other race playing a Pure Blood Jedi/Smuggler/whatever.

Just what I always wanted, leveling up a character of one race so I can pick the same exact race on another character.

Why would there be lore reasons given?

We already know all the races can speak the same languages, they talk to each other in cut scenes all the time. Undead are just humans who came back, there's never been a lore reason they can't speak their "former" live-human language.
