I think they're doing it right, more or less, as long as people don't have to rely on the store for gear, potions, resurrection, etc. Selling episodes a la Guild Wars rather than charging per month really is appealing to me, as someone who doesn't have enough time in a month to justify an ongoing regular subscription.
One thing I would hope for, however, is the option for current subscribers to play on a separate server. The current community is quite pleasent, and I'm concerned about the sort of riff-raff moving to F2P would bring in. I'm aware how elitist that sounds, but the existing community really is an important part of why I return to this game time and again.
