Sounds like it'll be released with a light amount of content. At least they're up front about it. That could really hurt them though unless the gameplay itself has a lot of variety.
It's hard to put the above into words, but basically I can play the same counterstrike map over and over but I got tired fighting the same old bots and PvP maps in GA.
Also, I'm a little at a loss at how they can do a "staged" rollout of new content based on user feedback if it's the users' actions that are revealing new content.
@wondersmith You can play solo or with a friend with bots on your team vs bots on the opposing team, but they're pretty dumb.
Then there's co-op vs AI which has a beginner and intermediate difficulty mode. That matches you up with other players vs an all bot enemy team. The beginner diff is pretty easy but I'm finding the intermediate diff can be pretty hard at my play level.
@Azzura Yeah, I'm the same. Playing against the bots is a lot of fun and pretty low pressure. Plus you get to choose how "hard" you want the game to be since you can pick the bot difficulty.
And 10-15 second wait times for a co-op vs AI group doesn't hurt either.
I enjoyed giving it a try awhile back. Very immersive game with a lot of detail in it. But there was no point to playing it when you couldn't find a group for the dungeons.
LOL. I brought up the APB video and in the 60 minute video I skipped around all over and all I saw was running, running, running, running and not 1 spec of combat.
Don't think I'll be playing that game anytime soon.
The only issue I have with this is that a Vanguard isn't a "grown up" Lightning. I used to be a dedicated Lightning pilot in the first game and those tanks were an end to themselves. Single person, fast, mobile and lots of firepower.
And time invested shouldn't be used as a balance mechanic at all.
