Massively's EVE Online CSM candidate roundup

May 12th 2010 2:25PM (Massively)
Most of y'all are not old enough to remember the good ol days when mining was the MOST profitable profession. Whole corps were built around mining, a skill that any player could contribute to. And industry thrived. Corp mining ops in empire would last for hours, and roids would not deplete in a single cycle.

When you could melt loot from L4s and end up with more minerals than you could by mining, the industry profession died. Along with it a majority of empire based industrial corps, after all, what's the use of a hulk when the roid pops in half a cycle? I speak in generality of course as some ridiculous people might still do this against all logical odds, it is not the norm.

I personally am waiting to seriously play this game again until that side of the game is fixed. Industrial/Mining corps were such fun for me. I loved mining, and I loved griefing miners. Nothing compared to a few hours of chatting with friends, grooving to tunes, and mining away, then suicide ganking the mining op right next to you.
I think you fuzzy empire bunnies are forgetting that you can be killed in empire too. It takes a little more creativity, but it's often many times more rewarding. Actually I've suicide podded players simply because they had an '03 born on stamp and had a "good feeling" about their implants.
But trust me when I say, I've suicided dozens of people and I prefer to get to know them now before I do it. It's so much more satisfying. The loot really doesn't matter to me. I play to win on the online game EVE masquerading as a teenage girl; "Ashley Sky" and my buddy is little "Wynona", we routinely obliterate "Care Bears".
It's amazing how people tend to trust teenage girls.
I'm actually a 49 year old dude! I think I should be a candidate.

Confirmed exploit allows EVE players to sneak up on unsuspecting victims

Join someone's corp and rob them, or kill their top fitted mission runners. Always a good time, and very profitable...but I really don't care about the loot, I just like to get to know who I'm about to obliterate. Hey, an advantage is an advantage. Any exploit is good.

Massively's EVE Online Tyrannis contest, part 2: Caption competition

My suggestion is to put an alt in a corp, and then create a corp with your main char, then wardec the corp your alt is in. At the very least you get to watch the reality TV drama unfold inside the corp you've declared war on, even if you don't do them much damage.
