@JuliusSeizure You might be right -- I don't really know the inner workings of White Wolf or how much autonomy they retained after being absorbed by CCP. No complaints from me on the fact that armor and looks are going to be paramount -- it was only the presentation of it that bugged me. I totally understand that they want to pull in women, and tbh, I appreciate it too because far too often, women are ignored and marginalized as customers of these games. It was just that when they said "and we're going to do that by integrating fashion into the game"... ug. It wasn't "teehee pretty clothes," definitely, but it wasn't subtle either.
Now, if they had laid it out like you did, I don't even think anyone would have thought twice about it, but the way they did it just played right into that annoying stereotype, even if they didn't mean it that way. And probably more irritatingly, it will work! Hehe.
I really wanted beast mastery but held off once I saw all the reports on the forums about how broken and unfinished it is. It's probably fine for a non-hardcore player (as I am), but I didn't want to send the message that releasing incomplete and bugged content is OK with me.
@KrakenAZ - I actually tend to agree with Eliot about Street Justice as implemented. I think it's kinda lame to charge extra for a set that really just looks like a mash-up of Martial Arts and Super Strength. Once I saw the set, I knew I could save money there. The Street Justice in my imagination was better than what we got, I guess.
@Wilhelm2451 Just to clarify... Justin is one of our Senior Contributing Editors; they all write news posts. Brendan never covered all EVE or only EVE. :) Skim back through our EVE category and you'll see that all of our news writers cover EVE news stories, just like they do for all games. It's the EVE column that is (and will continue to be) sacred to Brendan.
@(Unverified) Hear, hear. I hate that people seem to assume that SWG was closed down because it wasn't making money. If you look at it from LA's POV, it was closed down because it WAS making money, and that was bad for TOR. I don't want that getting lost in the noise.
