Hyperspace Beacon: Gooey GUI

Mar 20th 2012 5:59PM (Massively)
@Budukahn

I would love to have a proc button that popped up when the ability was available. Marauder have a really nice proc ability. We also have a bunch of abilities not on the GDC, it would be great to have some sort of indicatioin that those CDs are done that didn't require my staring at the quickbar.

@Joshinu

Georg Zoeller mentioned at the guild summit that they plan on adding more bars in the future.

Yes, it's a bit odd to do that, but I started heavily playing MMO is SWG and originally that bar was on top. I got used to it.

@Delillo

That's interesting that you should say that. That was one of the issues that we brought up at that the Guild Summit. Emmanuel seemed to be receptive. I think we will see the no-portrait version soon™.

@KvanCetre better yet, I will use it on my livestream which will be listed on the MV guide -- hopefully, I can convince BioWare to transfer over one of my characters, so I can show off the improments

@lostshore This is the problem with the English language sometimes. A colloquialism sometimes takes precedent over a denotative meaning of a word.

I was specifically meaning number one and number three. Number two applies, but it doesn't specially refer to a professional:

crit·ic  [krit-ik]
noun
1. a person who judges, evaluates, or criticizes: a poor critic of men.

2. a person who judges, evaluates, or analyzes literary or artistic works, dramatic or musical performances, or the like, especially for a newspaper or magazine.

3. a person who tends too readily to make captious, trivial, or harsh judgments; faultfinder.

@Kerbion

With 1.2 there will be three planets with post-50 solo questing content -- that is a questline and some repeatable content. I know it took me about 4 hours to complete the current post-50 content... I'm sure there's at least an hour's worth of new stuff on Corellia. I'd venture to say there is more like 2 hours.

That said, I do think that a big part of playing an MMO is to do it with other people... So, if you haven't already, I would suggest getting into a guild to run some flashpoints at very least. They are a lot of fun and definitely carry the story forward.

@ReadingRambo

I could definitely go into more detail about the UI... but "you can move everything to wherever you want it" pretty much sums everything up. :-)

There are a couple of things that couple be added like global opacity and reactive abilities button that could be added. But as it is, it's 10 times better than what's on the live servers.

@Wic

Well, unless GW2 launches at the beginning of April, then I would venture to say your hyperbolic statement is way off course -- but I guess most hyperbole is.

There will be new quest on Corellia in Update 1.2. I just did not get hands-on time with them, and there is a new operation, too. And the flashpoints and operations are new story content.

I appreciate your input, but I think you missed some key points in your argument.
