Hyperspace Beacon: Breaking the bank
Apr 4th 2012 8:42AM (Massively)Having the ability -to- do something is different than if they -should- do something.
BioWare has been extra cautious about eliminating database clutter. It cited clutter as one of the reasons it didn't have character bios.
Don't get me wrong: Just because I know the reason behind why the devs make certain decisions doesn't mean that I agree with them. Would I like to see guild banks for smaller guilds? Sure. Do I want character bios? Hell, yes. However, I do understand why the dev team has not put them in the game.
Hyperspace Beacon: Breaking the bank
Apr 4th 2012 7:57AM (Massively)You argument was that it cuts out small guilds. And I'm attempting to show that is does not cut out small guilds. It just means that they have to work a bit harder.
However, it being pointless is another matter. The idea -- from my perspective -- is to prevent database overload. Putting high limits on banks cuts down (not eliminates) clutter. Only those truly interested in having a bank will have a bank. There will be less people that "try it out" then never ever use it.

Apr 4th 2012 12:54AM (Massively)If you read my previous comment, you'll understand that ANY guild can meat the 15 member minimum.
Hyperspace Beacon: Breaking the bank
Apr 4th 2012 12:52AM (Massively)I double checked my wording. A guild needs to have 15 members. A guild obtains 15 members based on characters.
A guild minimum to start is 4 members grouped together (plus 5k credits). This means 4 accounts because you can't log on two characters at the same time from the same account. Given that a single player can have 8 characters on a single server, that means ANY guild can have a bank IF it wanted to work at it. (And by "work at it," I mean spend 5 minutes making 3 extra characters each.)
Hyperspace Beacon: The crew skills story
Mar 27th 2012 3:03PM (Massively)I think you misunderstand the statement. It isn't the family tree specifically that has benefits -- well, no more than the color of your outfit. That said, the Legacy benefits range from sharing the same species to one "training" your "son" an ability.

2.) If you can wear the armor, you can remove the modifiers and replace them.

Mar 27th 2012 1:20PM (Massively)They have at least 3 post 50 (repeatable) storylines on Ilum, Belsavis, and now one on Corellia

Mar 27th 2012 1:19PM (Massively)Although I definitely understand the want for a "costume" slot, I commend BioWare for trying something new with the customize-your-look system.
That said, I do hope that they open it up more than it appears to be on PTS. I believe we will see a better variety on the live servers.
