Apr 4th 2012 4:22PM (Massively)it is a really awesome looking RPG done in the same vein as games like the original Eye of the Beholder for the PC. Got my copy purchased and eagerly awaiting launch on the 11th too.
Report: 64% of Chinese gamers spend money on online games
Apr 4th 2012 4:14PM (Massively)Not sure where you are getting your figures, did you find a link with more data? From the source and this article we are not given any confidence intervals or deviations. The 500 sample rate is sufficient to assume a normal distribution and if we treat this as a proportional statistic then with the given data then I'm showing +/- 0.042 at 95% confidence or +/- 0.035 at 90% confidence.
Also I'm not sure how you are inferring the spread as being acceptable or non-acceptable. There is no hard or fast rule in regards to acceptable spread in scholarly work as it can vary greatly with the subject manner.

Apr 3rd 2012 5:31PM (Massively)No, I'd imagine many people actually do give a sh*t about statistical information pertaining to a $5.8 billion market with around 180 million current customers. The level of anti-Asian bitterness that comes out on these forums can be tiring at times...
Prime World charges women less to play, 'protects' them in mixed groups [Updated]
Apr 3rd 2012 11:39AM (Massively)I guess I should have clarified which article then. I was talking about the original source article at first but not the Massively article with the misinformation. I do see how that can be confusing now that you mentioned it. Just gets to me when people go out of their way to bash something without even bothering to learn the details first. But you are right, my post could have been better written. WTB edit button.
Prime World charges women less to play, 'protects' them in mixed groups [Updated]
Apr 3rd 2012 11:03AM (Massively)There is nothing sexist about this and I suggest you actually try reading the article before spewing misinformation. The discounts and buffs apply to BOTH males and females. Massively only chose to report on the females for some disappointing reason...... The developers intent is apparently to discourage the "boys only" mentality that seems to develop in some groups. Through this mechanism they apparently hope that they will get more mixed gender grouping. It is probably a futile effort as most of the vocal players seem to have the mental maturity of some 12 year old punk ,so they tend to already ruin the play experience for both males and females alike.
Newest WildStar Wednesday talks about creatures like a boss
Mar 29th 2012 10:42AM (Massively)I agree that TERA seems to have better combat and the extreme levels of cuteness from the Elin are indeed hard to beat, but once you do get pass the action and visuals TERA is rather lacking it seems. If WildStar is able to bring out the personality of their excellent trailer in the game as story then this could give them an edge as TERA's presentation through their quests/cinematic is horrible despite the possibilities of their lore. Also TERA's environments lack much, if any, interactivity; which is such a shame since they are generally very beautiful. I think it still remains to be seen just how much interactivity is in WildStars world, so they might have an edge here. Anyway, despite my disdain for the tab styled combat, I'm still hopeful for WIldStar when everything is taken together.

Mar 28th 2012 2:51PM (Massively)Nothing is wrong with holding "people" (...I actually find Alexander Gianturco to be more closely associated with certain bags used for feminine hygiene than with people but whatever...) for their actions. Letting an issue to just quietly fade away does nothing towards fixing the problem. This happens so often in life and then people wonder why we see the same problems recurring time after time. If there is a problem you have to keep at tit till it is resolved.

Mar 28th 2012 2:38PM (Massively)EVE Online's The Mittani issues formal apology for crossing the line [UPDATED]
Mar 27th 2012 11:38AM (Massively)Awesome post and thank you for it. I knew the punk was just talking sh*t to try to cover his rear going off his personality alone, but this just helps prove it further. Really the people who love Eve and want it to be the best ti can be, should be the ones most pissed off right now. This punk is tarnishing the Eve community through his words and actions. This is just making sick that I actually supported CCP through multiple accounts for so many years just for scum like this to thrive. Having a living game world where people like this can exist is fine as it does give the game-world some depth, but CCP shouldn't cater to this style though. Feel sorry for those CVA guys and other that try to be the "white hats" in a game that doesn't give a damn.
EVE Online's The Mittani issues formal apology for crossing the line [UPDATED]
Mar 27th 2012 11:26AM (Massively)11 billion ISK or any amount of ISK for that matter for someone at his level in the game is meaningless. It is a good gesture but it be more of a slight inconvenience for him rather than a major punishment. Also his whole gaming lifestyle resolves around lies and misinformation, so his words are rather meaninglessness. Going off his personality it seems doubtful that he actually regrets his conduct, he probably just regrets doing this in such a public way and now having repercussions. In short if CCP wasn't bringing pressure on him, I'd doubt him or his ilk would be apologizing. Can't really change the nature of scum. plenty of decent pilots in Eve that could take his place and help give a better image of the Eve community.
