2 B. Passwords and names No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity.
It's to avoid situations where someone creates a caracter named e.g. "Chrlbba" (not Chribba) and scams or harrasses people, damaging the player's reputation. If you want to attack someone, you are free to do it with any other identity than his own.
It's you who are exemplifying the "carebear"(no hate) attitude by refusing to ever have setbacks ("make everyone's life miserable") in an economic and warfare PvP game where you set your own goals.
Scammers are assholes in the game, sure, but if it gets to you IRL you have only yourself to blame for taking progress in this game too seriously. They "get thier jollies off with no consequences" because there are no consequences for ANYONE, including the scammed people. It's nothing like a real crime. It's a video game, pixels on a screen.
It the end it was all risk vs reward vs effort for the scammed investors, like it is so often in that game. No effort, good reward, huge risk.
You have to make friends as a new player. If you go solo and then make ennemies, you are surely in for a rough journey in EVE.
A PvP game will attract antagonistic behavior of course, particulary one where you stand with so much to lose, but most well-lead corporations will have a very friendly attitude internally.
As long as you don't act like an immature idiot e.g. insulting your enemy's mother IRL instead of "GF" (good fight), you will probably not be the target of "rude" behavior in general. We even went on to ally on another occasion with an old ennemy corporation, because there was no bitterness, it was all business (fighting for control over a busy low-sec system).
I played for 19 months and stopped a year ago, and this is my experience.
It looks ridiculous and I'd be embarassed to play a character like that. It's not a joke or a troll, and I'm not whiteknighting. I would truly be embarassed if someone catched me playing this. Pubic armor FTL.
I know it's not an MMO but they still get the prize from me... Dagoth Ur shouldn't have wasted his time creating the ash vampires and should have simpled flooded the island with cliff racers.
Avatar is "Princess Mononoke" in space. A mining village established in a magical forest damages it and makes the residents("fairies") upset. They get attacked and strike back, pushing the villagers away in the end. The cursed hero is originaly a human who must contact the fairies out of necessity and later bonds with them and their plight. It's 100% THE SAME.
