This First Impression is very miss leading. After you finish the basic first quest you are given which does have a few steps but at max will last you to level 7 in your initial profession you are left with nothing left of the beginning story which was very well done. Instead you are left with a grind system based our going out using a card at a crystal and killing mobs or gathering based on your job. This impression is very miss leading.
I wanted to like this game and the first few hours were very nice but once the story driven content was removed it became very boring and repetitive. There are a lot of frustrating UI elements that were not done properly for a PC audience that could have been easy fixes. But in this day and age hiding things 3 menu clicks down instead of right on the UI is a bit lack luster in design. This could have been a major breakthrough for Square as WoW is over 5 years old and most players are looking for new games to try but they dropped the ball by catering to a console crowd with a very gamepad centric layout.
This game hinges on large scale battles. This game screams F2P model with micro transactions. Why they have not embraced that I am not sure, but this game would get a large influx of players if they would do what is right for this type of game and take it F2P
