History lesson? Refresher course? Thanks for the 'history opinion', but no thanks. Think on these points:
1. Point well taken rllama, that as long as people are quiet, we get the hose.
But aren't people already are taxed via gasoline purchase, car purchase, licensing of both the car and person, etc? Therefore all interstates/highways in this country should never have a toll attached to them which "taxation without representation" point than what this article shows.
2. These are public (not private) roads bought and paid for in a democracy, not a monarchy-style of rule; and therefore a state should never force upon its people a toll for the use of a road already well funded via an ongoing tax system designed for that very purpose.
Now that is not to say there shouldn't be the allowance of free enterprise caddy-v within that same system which our forefathers would also support. If Faneeil wishes to purchase the land, engineer and build a private road, then how they wish to run it is their business.
