The Daily Grind: What's the most you'd pay for a collector's edition?

Jul 22nd 2011 8:22AM (Massively)
60 Euros for Guild Wars Nightfall CE.I was surprised that it only has 10 euros more then the stander edition. The two skill pins the books the CD case and the map could have easily sold for 70 and it would have been worth it, mostly for the skill pins.

Pottermore officially announced, but what exactly is it?

Just because Rowling doesn't want to be bothered making it into a mmo doesn't mean It will never be a mmo.

I don't think EA will give up on a kind of mmo for the HP world so easily.

Here you go just a E-book version of the books, nothing more.
A MMO seems along way away.

One Shots: Come down from there!

This reminds me of CoH, with 2 friends and I.

So two of us had flying powers while the third did not, the other flier also had some kind of teleport skill where you can bring create a portal so the others can use it, so.

Me and the other flier found some skyscrapper and went on its ledges and used the portal skill, well the none flier and the one with teleport lived together so the other flier went to the non fliers pc and accepted the teleporting.

All this of course when the none flier was afk.

Ir i remember correctly we left her there for a while and went shopping for items.

Talking Sony and identity protection with LifeLock

So..... basically, USA chooses to have less security, well no wonder CC looks so great over there. In that case I hope CC never becomes as wide spread over here as it is in the USA.

Talking Sony and identity protection with LifeLock

Somehow I don''t think this person/company is being completely honest or if they are they don''t know all the facts.

Lets take a simple example that I found your wallet and it has both your CC and you DC in it.Now I don''t know how badly DC work over in America, but over here in EU if you have the DC its worthless without the pin number.

Sure its not a great feeling knowing that someone has your DC but as long as you didn't write the pin down on a paper on the wallet your pretty safe, unless they get lucky on the first 3 tries guessing your password, before the DC gets blocked

And if you wanted to shop online with your DC you couldn't unless you had the paper you get from the bank with about 50 four digit numbers which each time you want to use the DC online it asks you for one line which corresponds to the required four digit number you need.

And let''s say you were stupid enough to write the pin on a piece of paper that you put inside your wallet behind the DC or that you just picked up the sheet of paper with all the numbers on them which you just put into your wallet until you got home.Even if that was the case the great thing about a DC is, that you can only spend what you have on it.

For most people that's only gonna be what they just earned the last month, minus whatever gets charged as soon as you have the money, like rent, electricity, water etc, so while it would be horrible to lose your DC with pin, its not going to be as painful as having a 5K/10K debt because you lost your CC unless you happen to have that amount in your DC account the moment it got stolen.

While I know that CC by simply being CC has a lot of security and safeguards, that does not mean that a DC is as simply as opening a pack of chocolates

Hackers say Anonymous was responsible for Sony attack

May 7th 2011 11:55AM (Massively)
Can we stop reporting on these supposed proof that anon did this?

Until one of theses people that claim to have prove can give out 5+ account info that was stolen then it''s just bull and it''s simply people trying to give anon a worse name or to throw unto them blame for something they did not do.

I'm not saying that anon would not have done this, I''m simply saying its too easy to just put the blame on anon.I mean seriously is SOE really that stupid to think that just because they found a anon calling card that it was anon''s fault?Did they not think that it could have been just as easily someone trying to put the blame on anon?If i was the hacker I would try to give falls leads as much as I could.

If its really peoples id and peoples money that I am after then I wouldn''t want people to know that I did it.If it was recognition which I was after for discovering some major gaping security hole then I wouldn''t be denying hacking through the bad system.

How are these supposed members even checked out?I could just as easily email the news, organizations and claim to be a member of anon and that I have sekret info about the hacking. It''s obvious that these news organizations are so oblivious about the whole thing anyone on anon claiming to be or know the person that did the hacking is not a real anon, the one reason someone would be happy to talk to the news about what they or someone they know did is if they were simply trying to shed light on the lack of security of SOE, since this is obviously not the case, nobody in their right mind will want to have anything to do with it, that includes "friends" of the hacker.

Rumor: Microsoft making a play for Linden Lab

Oct 1st 2010 11:16AM (Massively)
Wow with everything that has ever happened to SL and countless moments of people declaring SL doomed, if this has any truth to it, this might be the closest thing to the actual doom of SL.I can already imagine Sl being microsofted, goodbye Sex, goodbye free accounts, goodbye average joe and jane.Hello 3D habbo hotel, hello overpriced montly feee, hello corporate use and focus and eventual failure..

Then again this is probably not even remotly true, but its still fun to speculate.
