When I was still playing Battle of the Immortals, I would sit in certain mobs for like an hour or two on end, killing them and hoping that I would get one as a pet.
My question is - will they discontinue the Mac client now that it's switched hands? My PC is a mess when it comes to higher end games recently, due to a problem with getting old and overheating unless the cooling pad on and a fan is pointed at the heat exhaust.
I -could- probably play it on the PC when it goes free to play, but the implications mean that it would be a pain. Then again, it's not something I'm already suffering from with increasing regularity.
@johnmatthais I'd like to add that what I hated most about the game was the convoluted "pushing" looking nearly identical to actually being hit, and the criminal system not recognizing that "pushing" is, indeed, really annoying, the incredibly slow attack speed was also annoying, and lastly, I really hated how long crafting took. I understand the modicum of realism they attempted to employ, but there's a line where it's a game, and we have to let people have their cake and eat it too or else they'll be irritated.
Moreover, I really hated that when starting as things like "Armorcrafter" or (insert some other crafter here), they gave you the gathering skill, and the crafting skill, but the refining skill required in between was required to be purchased, from an NPC, and if you didn't have 100 Intelligence, or your build had a maximum Intelligence that was under 100, you were pretty much screwed.
Well, it's clear to me that some people are either still ticked off that this game wasn't exactly what they'd wanted it to be (read: UO2.0) or they are still ticked off that open PvP games exist (which is pretty dumb if you ask me. It's like Pepsi fans being ticked off because people still drink Coca Cola. Look, you have your product. Stop trying to say others aren't allowed to have theirs).
Moreover, anyone who says that the game looks "like it's 20 years old" or that it looks "worse than WoW" or is somehow discerning how the AI is now out of that "showing off graphical effects" video is either blind or in one of the two parties mentioned above.
When people want to give valid opinions on how this game is progressing, I'd be interested to hear, seeing as Xsyon didn't turn out to be all it was cracked up to be.
I went ahead and applied to the best of my ability. My semester got screwed up due to extenuating circumstances, so I've got plenty of time. It's also given me time to rethink where I am and what I want to do, and with not having a job currently and all, this offer couldn't have come at a better time, really.
Hopefully years of experience in dozens of MMOs help my case a bit. :D
...and if they don't, then hopefully some other nice offer will come along sometime soon. :D
...and if one doesn't, then I'll plan an attack on the Choose My Adventure guy. It's perfect! I already know where he'll be because I'm part of the group choosing his adventure! Muhahaha!
