The Anvil of Crom: Building a Khitai PC

Labeling me a fanboy also seems petty, personal, and unprofessional. Can't you tell the difference between criticizing a particular aspect of your article ("Your unsubstantiated comments about a particular retailer seem petty and unprofessional") and labeling you as something ("You disagree with me and therefor must be a fanboy")?

You sure told me off! Good thing I won't be around to, uh... read the articles that you write?

Lol indeed.

I've spent easily more than $7,000 at Newegg over nearly a decade and have only every had positive experiences with their customer service. (and I don't work there/know anyone who works there/have any financial interest in them)

If you're going to bash Newegg in a public, psuedo-journalistic forum, maybe you should provide more information? Or just write an article about it? It seems personal, petty, and unprofessional.

The Daily Grind: Which MMO has the best crafting?

LOTRO crafting was incredibly bland to me. Sure you had a chance to make something special when crafting, but there just wasn't enough variety to allow you to be any different from any other crafter.

In SWG there was so much variability when making an item that it was nearly impossible to make an item with the same stats twice, unless you used the same materials for creation.

I'm sure the item database was a nightmare to maintain, but it makes everything else I've ever played shallow and boring by example. I wish I knew who designed the bioengineering stuff, it would be nice to follow their career :)

Star Wars Galaxies was the only game I know of where you could distinguish yourself as an exceptional crafter by researching and (especially for bioengineering, experimenting with) your craft.

I can still remember the name of the guy who made these awesome weapons the first few months of the game on Syclla. And I remember spending hours gathering DNA samples and then experimenting with the creature crafting stuff for bioengineering... and loving it.

Richard Garriott wins lawsuit against NCsoft

I feel like Garriot owes me some of that money, in exchange for me playing that steaming pile called Tabula Rasa. I don't know what version of the game you guys were playing, but the week after release all I saw was bad design, bad implementation, bad art, and missing features.

Hell I played HORIZONS for 30 days (meat pies ftw), but I gave up on TR after just a few days.

Lies and misdirection.

It was obvious months ago that these are baaaaaad people.

Shame, if they had introduced a "free from level 1-15 and pay 15$/month after that" option I would still be paying to play it. Instead, they just continually introduce pay barriers to play, that (when last I looked) add up to >15$/month for people who play more than 20 hours a week.

Massively Speaking Episode 90: Allods Online's cash shop interview

@Turlagh: He says several times that the prices are too high, but that they need to find a business plan that allows them to actually make money while hosting the game.

I think they should have yanked the CS right away, but they didn't then so it doesn't make much sense to do it now.

FWIW I was about to uninstall after reading Lobotomists post, but after actually listening to the interview in the podcast I've decided to keep playing until I see the final costs are.
